  1. Aye, don't worry mate, we'll have it sorted. My comment r.e the lack of phone signal and escape routes, was with regard to dealing with anyone annoying. . . . there is also a handy river for disposal
  2. Ironically. . . . the place I'm thinking, when you follow your sat nav for it. . . . you turn up a lane (the wrong one), and after sometime. . . some helpful person has stuck a hand written sign in the hedge that says 'SAT NAV ERROR'. . . . .
  3. It's the wye valley. Plenty of b and b's. That's part of the reason we were asking about numbers early, because its a major tourist area, so getting stuff for a weekend in august, we need to do it earlyish.
  4. This is going to be interesting . . . . Think the place we're going to be has no phone signal. . . . and only one road in and out
  5. After chatting to jb, it looks like well try to stick to a river, probably the wye. There will most likely be some kind of small day ticket fee, but that's pretty unavoidable round here. But should be cheap enough. Well have to work on a place to camp, not easy with the numbers but well find somewhere. Ideally a farm so we don't bother anyone else. If not well try a local campsite but peak family season and us lot might be a recipe for disaster lol.
  6. Yer the last bit was kinda rhetorical lol. My point was only, when you invade and subjugate a people .... They do messed up stuff.
  7. I'm not defending it..... But we have invaded their country. In other circumstances, similar sacrifices of life would be deemed heroic. Obviously anyone pressuring a wee girl to blow herself up is low as you can get. But why the hell are we still there? Why were we ever?
  8. Lab - there are taxis mate....... I think. I'll check because its the middle of fecking no where. Hay min - aye a couple of quid might convince someone. At the moment we've picked our river, just looking into acom. It's got some decent b and bs a few mins away, couple of pubs, shops and hopefully somewhere to camp river side. Do folk want the pres etc in a pub or would a gazebo / marquee in a field and some crates of booze be ok? With a BBQ or hog roast?

  10. Where we have it will be a secret location lol. Once we've worked out where the secret location is, we can tell you about trains, b and bs etc. I think I've found a real good day ticketed stretch of the wye. In a very pretty location. Now, the challenge is finding somewhere near that is happy for 30 blokes to rock up, camp and cause chaos. That's not going to be easy. We're starting with pubs, campsites etc. if not we might be able to convince a farmer to let us borrow a piece of a field. The numbers seem to have grown a lot, which presents its own challenges. P.s it's the m
  11. That's cos you are a jammy git! I think I've got a plan bat man. We could fish that piece of river where we go near my girlfriends, and probably camp there to Ow, or on that farm nearby? You know where I mean. It's got specimen barbell apparently.
  12. P.s I think I might have found a place where we can camp and fish on the banks of the wye, away from most folk and with a pub 100m away. . . . . I'm working on it!
  13. Now, I wasn't there last time. . . . . but I have a funny feeling I'm going to get roped into organising this one! Just my tuppence worth, but I think a river, fishing for wild fish, is a bit more in keeping with the whole ethos of the hunting life, also it makes a much more scenic setting. The issue is getting a river, with camping, and a near by drinking establishment. . . . that'd be happy being invaded mid summer by a load of folk, as it looks like this one might be a big un. Also it's looking more like the THL charity camping trip and boxing match (socks vs aaron etc), than th
  14. I've seen a lot of spaniels work, also labs, other gun dogs, a large range of terriers, some hounds and mongrels. . . . . Whatever you say, you are going to put someones back up, and if I had a pound for everytime someone pointed out that their dog did the job as well (or better) than a purpose bred dog. . . . . I wouldnt be sat on here. . . . i'd be sat in the sun . . . a very rich man! Both of the breeds that you have mentioned are brilliant for the job in hand, and of course, how they take to it, will have a lot of dependance on how they are bred, brought up and trained etc. You wil
  15. Are you sure there is something in there to make her want to enter? My lot don't tend to bother working cover unless they have a hunch there is something in there, be that due to experience, scent etc.
  16. It wasn't a dig mate, but you must have a lot of time, land and quarry to go at, to get that number of dogs to a decent standard. Lucky man.
  17. How many young coursing dogs does a man need???
  18. Cheers buddy. Never downloaded an ap. . . . might start with this one.
