  1. That rough dog is a good strong looking animal. I wish you all the best with them. That fawn dog is a little cracker as well. I'd be happy with any of the three!
  2. Aye puts it in perspective when some wee local shelter run by a couple of folk 'never puts down a healthy animal', whereas the RSPCA drops then right, left and centre.
  3. How early are we talking here? As far as i'm aware its been a long time that cockers and springers have been physiologically different. On the topic of sprockers, there is one working in the beating line of our shoot, its the only one i've seen work much and it looks just like a mini black and white springer, and works somewhere between the two, if that makes any sense? As for the difference between springers and cockers i'd say the big one is that cockers take longer to mature and can really be like kids and pretty manic up until two. Yer n the problem with springers is you
  4. I just look like a f*****g hippy so i wouldn't worry.
  5. Get rid of the tail. Yes here's a tutorial on how to get rid of the tail. 1.Invite Ideation over. Touche! The tiger print just made me think 'strip club!'
  6. Skin rabbit, wrap around dummy, tie and let dry. Simples! Or just use a dead rabbit. Still nicely done step by step instructions.
  7. obvs i not 12 when i am 24 and aint a druggy In which case your just a total moron. Bad luck.
  8. Now either your 12 or been tooting on a crack pipe?
  9. Nice to see the pics with the fox matey! Your right, these little dogs will do a lot more than people think.
  10. It also depends on the experiance and age of the ferrets, younger inexperianced ferrets will rarely go that deep and so will miss a lot. The old hands will scrape that warren clean!
  11. Back from pub! :-)))))))

  12. I do love doing the deep old warrens though, regardless of the return, especially when you have confidence in your ferrets and your in no rush with regards to time or numbers. The other day a friend and i netted up 40+ holes, not huge, but big enough, with a good depth. There was only one rabbit (it transpired) and we entered 3 jills. Round and round they went but they finally get her out. I love hearing the run around beneath you and imagining your ferrets really grafting and hunting, the fact thats its tough and the ferrets have to work for it makes it even sweeter when the rabbit pops out.
  13. Great pics as always! That first one is a real cracker. Out of interest are they shooting ground game as well as the birds and do they not have a problem with that lurcher taking off after the hares/rabbits during the drives?

  15. Terrible weather for shooting, but managed 93 birds. Also found 3 active fox sets! Knackered. . . . pub now!

  16. I know where you coming from mate but 60 years ago the world wasn't a worthers original advert. Sure there was better social cohesion in some areas but there was plenty of greed, back stabbing, people thinking they were better than others etc Not everyone shared and cared etc.
  17. Yer noticed the same in high winds, personally don't thin this is about the scent blowing down. Imagine on a still day how good a rabbits smell should be, if the dog can easily smell them down there, they can probably smell something of us up above (humans stink). But in a gale the amount of air whipping about, theres more chance of the smell being carried away them funneled straight down the hole, wind rarely blows toward the ground. It's probably the noise or as someone said the lack of scenting ability. Also re. the noise thing. Like The One says, i've always thought it funny a bit of r
  18. To be honest mate i don't think that was the point. Those guys didn't go to war because they hated japs of germans, they went to war (at least in their own minds) to defend a set of ideals and and to preserve the world they knew. Part of those ideals was not judging and opressing folk because of their country of origin or religion or skin color.
  19. What you know about dogs could be written on a postage stamp and still leave room for you to sign your name. The malx are cracking dogs, take some beating on big quarry and can scoop up rabbits no problem. I wouldn't expect them to take too many hares though, not on big land at least. Dans got the right idea. I'd go for a pup out of the two best running dogs you can find doing the job you want your dog to do. Who gives a toss about the breeds in it.
  20. f*****g hell, those things look like retarded pigs.
