    I agree with a lot of what you said. But also given how a lot of people on here think, it might be worth bearing in mind that past generations went to war both to keep a 'british' way of life etc but also to stop the world becoming a place ruled by violence, where governments and leaders use force to bully people who are different than them or think differently. I think most of them would have found all sides of our present conflicts fairly depressing.

    Doesn't need to be a working greyhound , it's prey drive that makes them race. Good point! I just guess for me its easier to see it when they are smashing through a hedge to get at something rather than chasing a dummy.

    Hound girl gets my vote, all the rest are pretty much the same person doing the same thing. To be fair i'd put our Tiff above them in the extreme huntress stakes (American ladies). From what these guys have written they are just out shooting trophies (ok the bow stuff is pretty impressive)on big 'hunts' rather than outings several times a week hunting different quarry in different ways.

    Out of interest, why is the only good hare a dead hare? Just wondered. more food for dog and means dog is running well just To be honest a half grown hare isn't much food for a dog and doesn't show it's running well. Not meaning to have a dig, i just dont see the point of running EVERYTHING, you see a bit and pick out whats worth running on and whats worth leaving for a bit, otherwise it's just a numbers game or its pest control maybe for some, but not so much with hares. does it really matter?ive had hares that are a decent size one part of the country and had hares up on th

    I know you going to think i'm stupid, but i reckon there is something fishy about this. I think its possible (not saying certain) that the government did very little to back those police up on the day, opening the door for the students to cause a massive seen and thus cause a massive turn in opinion against them.     I would say and it's just my opinion, that the pure sight hound most commonly seen in the U.K to have the highest prey drive would be the whippet. Don't laugh! Although i agree a pure grey takes some beating if you find a cracker, and i'm sure on dans side of the pond this isn't so hard, but a true working grey is a hard thing to find these days in the U.K. There are however some fantastic lines of working whippet in this country and some of them really do have balls the size of melons. The ones i've seen have very high prey drive and little concept of their own size (although many are 22"),

    My favorite kind of shooting! I think a lot of folk miss because the game is usually fairly close, they get panicked and fire too soon, you usually have a little more time than you think. Its amazing how many people you see firing from a static position at moving game, just because in the moment they have totally forgotten about swinging/following through. The more you do the more you will get you eye in. If you want to practice, you can always try getting a friend to stand out of your vision (behind/to one side) and through a tennis ball or something so that it comes into/across you field of

    Like everyone said i'd go for it. Just one thought, if your missus is home at the moment you might want to get a pup asap, because while a dog might not be bothered by 8 hours alone, an 8 week old pup can get really really miserable. So get a pup now and let your missus socialise it while your at work. And then as it gets older, a good half an hour walk in the morn and a couple of hours in the eve etc will be fine.

They had permission for one side of the valley and not the other, but still thought they would shoot the rabbits bouncing about on the opposite (our) side at the same time as we were ferreting. Probably a bit strong saying i almost got shot as the rounds were going up through the trees cos of the angle, but still kind of shit me up at the time. So I was f*****g right?
