  1. Thats sick mate. At the end of the day pointless cruelty to ANY animal is f*****g disgusting. And killing somones pet cos YOU don't like the species/breed is also a f*****g lame thing to do. Only kids and cretins do that kind of thing.
  2. Remember those two lurchers that were hung over a bridge? What happens if the person who did it just really hated lurchers, was sick of seeing them about, hunting stuff, and one day managed to get them out of sight of their owner and promptly killed them in a horrible way. But its ok right cos that his call, cos he really HATED lurchers?
  3. Same as has been said but i wouldnt flick them on the nose, with adult ferrets it just makes them think your a b*****d Feed them, handle them lots, give them an egg to lick up and sit them on your lap, and stroke them, eventually your hands become a very normal thing. Also i dont think you need to tie a rope round her, if your sat on your lawn, you can probably out run her
  4. Your doing my head in. He can always feed the meat in small enough portions that it is immediately consumed then remove it when they are done, so no meat goes off in the cage or just put it in at night and remove in the morning. Ferrets also eat different amounts so i'm sure he knows better than a book how much his ferrets eat. See. . . . you don't know it all!
  5. He is also wrong in that Vitalin does not have the highest protein content. Innova Evo Ferret - 50% 8 in 1 Ultimate - 45%
  6. easist thing in the world to break a dog to a cat, its just some lads chose not to for there own reasons. I admit if you want to walk a dog off a lead near roads it cant chase cats.tools! thats a bit richious that. True mate but kids round my way do it for a laugh and I think its wrong at the end ov the day. If people put enough game infront ov there dogs and caught plenty they. Wudnt hav to slip there dogs on a cat. To make them feel hard get a life I say. Put it in the feild where it counts fair does if your dog get one and kills it carnt be helpd sumtimes Dont bow down to h
  7. Your right about most of it but not about the cat food. Its not a good source of food for them, but much of it DOES have a high enough protein content.
  8. Pretty different levels of operation those two mate, hancock churns out shit loads of dogs each year, i think mb only has a couple of litters or so. Whatever. I have a dog direct from mb, that he picked for me, and it has so far done everything i have asked of it and more. At the end of the day it IS a whippet and so has limits to what it can achieve, but it has impressed me and is one of the best 'hunting' dogs i have seen. Everyone i have met who has a dog from him has been very pleased with it. If there was no ban i would say the dogs would be capable of taking rabbit, hare, fox and
  9. or perhaps he might just be a good dog man who recognises potential very much doubt it having read his posts his first ever whippet so has nothing to compare it to,pound to pinch of s**t he'll be wtriting a book about the whippet soon enough legend in his own head Y.I.S Leeview I agree its too young to stud a dog, thats just retarded. But it isn't his first whippet. He claimed it was spent time looking at whippets before he made his mind up Y.I.S Leeview You might be right mate, i dont know the guy, but i got the distinct impression that i had seen a pictur
  10. It's also a good way to get a bad rep. I have permission to come and go as i please on a piece of ground that is about 700 acres. It;s good hunting land, and is keepered, the head keepers wife has a cat that will not run from dogs and only the other day he warned me - if your dog pegs my cat your gone. My only near neighbours also have some cats and currently they are happy with me using their land to get to my permission and hunt as i go, they didnt even complain when we sent a saluki x across their garden in hot pursuit.
  11. Maybe for a lot of folk it's just that they are so desperate to kill something with their dogs so they take whatever they can.
  12. So if i saw your dog in my yard or out in the bush when i was shooting you'd be cool with me shooting it? i'd be with my dog when it's not in my yard. so i think there is a difference between that and a roaming cat that's out hunting. that and i'm not in the UK so i don't think my dog would ever be in your yard. i keep my birds next to the dog pen to keep the cats away from em. No problem mate, i think it's very different for you! Your hunting feral cats that are destroying your native wild life. Some of these bell ends are running cats in the streets, that clearly belon
  13. The latter. I'd get kits this summer. Can work them from 8 months ish, some do it earlier, some later, depends on the kit etc.
  14. Ferrets shouldnt really be disturbing the nets, if there is a rabbit down there they shouldnt be at the nets, if they are at the nets, it should be behind a rabbit. I would consider my ferrets 'not small' and the jills weigh between 700-900 gms and the hobs weigh about 1500gms. They certainly ain't micro ferrets. (2.2 lb - 1 kilo).
  15. Aye, only let her go to someone established rather than someone who signed up 2 days ago. She looks too good to get lost in the abyss. You sure you want to give her up? No mates who could run her on for a bit?

My only point is that is it someones animal, their pet, their companion, and whatever my views on that i dont think its right to just kill it out of hand. I am out with my dogs hunting, but the
  18. Didn't realise it was you mate when i clicked the topic! I have a litter sister, litter brother and a cousin to this jill and if she is anything like mine or any of johnnys other ferrets then someone is going to be very lucky to pick her up. A lot of time and effort was put into breeding and keeping the lines she is from. I would have her but i have six. I hope she gets a top home, she deserves it!!!!!!!!!

Lots of interesting places, including a good swim in the river, i had an extra dog for the day as well.

  20. If you find some one thats willing to pay you to shoot pheseants . . . . . i'm in!
  21. But if it was for the protection of game birds i would probably do a good job during the season and then tell them i will check back every so often through the summer to see if they are having any problems and to contact me if any assistance was needed.
  22. I'd say nothing as it's illegal.
  23. So if i saw your dog in my yard or out in the bush when i was shooting you'd be cool with me shooting it?
  24. Like has been said - a good cat can be handy, especially round the farm etc, but they can cause proper havok! Mind you i wouldnt kill one, cos i would hate it if someone killed my dog.
