Alright matey boy, no one here has a problem with you hating on folk that are cruel to their ferrets, we all hate that. What got you the abuse, was straight off the bat claiming that anyone who fed a natural, meat diet, rather than dried food was not looking after their ferrets properly and deserved a visit from the RSPCA (the most hated organization by ANY hunter). I believe you said - "If you cant afford to feed your ferrets properly with a food that is formulated for ferrets maybe its time to give them up. Your kind of attitude tells me that you guys must keep your ferrets in pretty p

You know the bit where the geologist says that 'too little is done to warn people of the dangers of tunneling in sand'?, i'm meaning no disrespect to the lad, but COME ON!

I think the worst crime is being explosively rude and condemning. . . . . . . and wrong. . . . .all at the same time

Sounds like you have a couple of proper arseholes to deal with there mate! Thing is, if they were not claiming the dole but supporting themselves from what they were doing, i feel they would go up in your eyes. I think the idea that ferreting is a new craze amongst the idiots to put cash in the bank is pretty far fetched, you really don't make much, and to be fair would be better off lamping at night with an air rifle, lamp or night vision, and a big backpack , the distance you can cover with no one knowing you are there, is unreal, and the bags reflect that I don't really care what

It is slightly harder to digest than other things. It digests about as easily as baked beans and is far easier to digest than bread. The whole myth about pork being bad stems from religious fanatics quoting from the bible and using invented science to justify it. Have a google and check. I think the pork = bad thing in religion, comes from religions based in warm countries, where pork would have gone bad very quick, pre refrigeration, what started as a bit of culinary advice, 'steer clear of the pork', became with time, some kind of religious dogma, as is the way of such things and b

What you in for? Personality transplant?

Out of interest, what would this be worth, if anything? In good condition etc.

Sorry mate, got you confused with 'Piano man' . I wasn't looking for an argument, just observing that as you say, some/many folk do attempt to preserve their rabbits as 'game' that they can shoot all year around.

or pink Aye let's all be silly, I'll say tartan. Who's up next? Must be plenty of colours left. Come on all together now RED AND YELLOW AND PINK AND GREEN, ORANGE AND PURPLE AND BLUE, I CAN SING A RAINBOW SING A RAINBOW SING A RAINBOW TO!

Ah, now I know why you've got the blues, your reading too many of burny2011's posts. How long do you think he'll last on here. He fits right in. Makes me seem socially well adjusted as well!

Some very interesting replies lads, and interesting to see the massive variety in what and how we shoot / hunt. For me, 'hunting' is something that i have always done (in the main) during the winter months. When it comes to rabbits, although i am there for the enjoyment, the sport and the bond of working my animals, love of being outside etc, i am also, very honestly, there for the numbers. On the land that i work, in the most part, i would be expected to clear out the majority of the population through the winter months, as efficiently as possible. If i offered only daytime air rifle / rifle

Sorry matey, think i didnt make myself clear. I meant that, as such, you take some enjoyment from carrying out the pest control, and so as such do not feel the need to completely remove all of a certain type of pest (i.e rabbits) using the 'most' efficient method you possibly could. The landowner is also obvously happy with the job that you are doing, having reduced the population to a manageable level they are happy for you to come and shoot certain numbers of say bunnys but leave some, rather than expecting you to be there night after night until they were all gone. The thing i meant about c

Most of what we ferret either has tree roots, or rocks through it. Not usually so much of a bother, if you start early, feed the ferrets etc. But this time of year you will no doubt hit wee ones, so all bets are off so to speak. Start early, take a saw, and a good book.

What a c**t! You keep going matey boy, you'll make a lot of friends round these parts with an attitude like that. And Mr Keyboard warrior, to be honest, i'm f*****g glad i don't live in or near whatever shithole you reside in. If you've looked it up and have info about pork causing colic - that'd be great, stick it up here, because i never at any point actually insulted you, or called you wrong, i just gave my opinion.

Right - first off no need to be a rude little twat. Secondly - do you actually know what colic is? The most common type of colic is spasmodic colic. This type is also known as gas colic and occurs when liquids, or gas, build up in the intestine. This build up results in a swollen intestine. Strangulating colic, of either the small or large intestine, results from a food buildup, blockage and gas. The intestine becomes twisted and the blood supply is cutoff. As a result, tissue dies. Nonstrangulating colic, of both the large or small intestine, occurs when blood vessels tear away and resul

beddy/whippet/greyhound x spaniel
Ideation replied to lloyd-holmes's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Then the Spaniel (unadulterated) is the animal for the job! You'd not be gaining anything by crossing with a lurcher. Saw some spaniels working on the weekend think id sooner have a good nosed lurcher such as a beddy x, wasnt impresed at all with these dogs, im sure if a soft mouthed retriever is your need then a spaniel is the one, but dont forget a good nosed lurcher can do anything a spaniel can do, but if you need more than such as bushing ferreting and all then a good nosed lurcher is a much better choice  -
Yer i think it's the salt, but would probably be more a problem with bacon/ham in large quantities than say belly pork etc.
-
What people also forget is just how much these kind of marches cost the tax payer.

Actually i think if you read it you will find that what's been said is - dry food is the best diet for ferrets, much better than a natural raw diet, to feed a natural raw diet is to keep your ferrets in poor condition, probably as a result of lack of knowledge, or a lack of a job etc and that folk who did so deserved a visit from the RSPCA.. . . . . . . . . . which is bollocks. So don't go calling folk a 'f*****g muppet' ya retard.

Whats the strangest/funniest thing you've seen your dog do?
Ideation replied to Tomm Parr's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Mine does the same mate, and if the black berries aren't out he goes looking for the plants, and eats the leaves! Daintily picks them off and nibbles them like a goat -
So you are not ACTUALLY going to tell us why dried food is better than meat for your ferrets? Is that because you don't have an answer? Your a joke wee man
