  1. There is NO logic in that mate. Any ferret bred should be well reared, tame, easy to handle and off good, proven working stock. In my opinion money and working animals do not mix well. I have a litter just that this that was born a couple of days a go. What is surplus to my requirements will go to new homes for free. yes and you know they will get tested ,the day i cant get a free kit or2 for the price of a drink or a few nets is the day i chuck it .working stock to working homes is the only way and u get to meet some cracking people on the way . just another thought on t
  2. That IS true, it's a bit of a Catch 22, if your new to it and don't know any one, your a bit screwed, or at least it takes a lot longer. Simple answer is, if you were not lining Gem, it'd take a lot longer for me to find the pup i wanted, but i'm sure with enough feelers out for long enough, something good would come up, it usually does (Can't beat optimism). Just might have to put in some time and miles. Think about that guy we met at the show with the collie/greys, or that Keeper mat, with one? Or the guy with that stud dog? They are out there, and your right, they are kept quiet
  3. Yet you still feel compelled to reply ....tell me this bright boy how would you get to see the dam working? If she's not long whelped she will hardly be fit enough to take out for a demo will she. Well, 'bright boy', you get to know folk with decent dogs and you go and see the dam work BEFORE she is mated. Not rocket science is it mate. I wasn't knocking the dogs from Hancocks kennels, if you actually read what i posted, it's just that i don't really agree with the way he produces them There are understandable reasons why people buy pups from him and i have also put that i
  4. Yer, gave a load of abuse as well, everyone thought he was a teenager, until they read his post looking for land and realized he was in his 30's! Spends a lot of his time telling folk that they are stupid, which is rather ironic. And all this knowledge of running dogs has been learnt since jan/feb when he got one off here for free at 2 yrs old.
  5. To be fair if it's that bad i'd get a professional or the council in mate, not worth the health risk!
  6. Nice one mate, you've officially made yourself look like a peddling idiot. Just for the money eh? What a great future for the working ferret P.S - As has been said, they are not greyhounds, at least get what your peddling right!
  7. There is NO logic in that mate. Any ferret bred should be well reared, tame, easy to handle and off good, proven working stock. Shouldn't that be the standard not some higher priced luxury model??? A higher price does not equate to a higher standard of ferret, and in general those selling for a higher price, are interested in the money rather than breeding the best. In my opinion money and working animals do not mix well. I have a litter just that this that was born a couple of days a go. What is surplus to my requirements will go to new homes for free.
  8. Remember this guy from the 'if you feed your dog un-cooked meat it will become an uncontrollable killer, killing stock, other dogs, people etc" incident??? He's a little bit 'special'.

  10. You are consistently one of the biggest knobs on here. If folk really need to explain it to you, you're never going to understand it. It's got nowt to do with killing anything. And it's got even less to do with the means of dispatch, despite the way you would like to simplify it. It's about an attitude. have a word with yourself ffs . its no different then killing young rabbits and the airgun section is full of pics of young kits or even the terrier section where pics where shown of dead blind cubs . i dont need anything explained to me i will carry on doing what i h
  11. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that! Day you see me standing next to one of them things alive is the day i probably die! I don't mind getting up to them but i want to know where i'm running and where the nearest tree i can climb is! Only time I put my bitch on the lead is when we go past them. And they feckin stink. Dirty fecking pigs! I know mate, they'd eat most dogs alive! I'm very impressed by any dog that is said to be able to handle a full grown one on it;s own, in the open. Some task that
  12. David Hancock has been in business breeding collie lurchers for almost 30 years. It's a pretty tall order to set up a business of any kind and still be trading after that length of time. Don't think for one minute he'd have survived this long if he'd been breeding shit as most of his knockers will tell you. You'll know what you're getting and you'll never need to come on here, post pics and ask folk what they think "is in her" and have mind boggling permutations posted back. I visited with David and Sally last weekend and Sally was telling me that they're putting their prices up to £230 from

  14. Wish we had them here..... I'd have a lovely stocked freezer As long as you have a good dog and a big gun, or a REALLY REALLY good dog. Seen one all but eat a lab mate, no joke.
  15. They can't get enough of them mate! Won't touch a live one, but as soon as you've pricked it, they go mad for it! Once they find you, it's a good way to keep them occupied
  16. I had to bail just after snapping those as the big boar in that family group came barreling over, mind you, those sows would have had me if i didn't have the dogs between me and them. I know where they have their young, so you can go in and they will come and face you off to keep you away, and you get a kind of mexican stand off, if they decide to go mind, your f****d. Those are not the big uns either In my opinion they are a lot fecking tougher for a dog than a deer, they are built like a tank and can run far far faster than a person. They don't mind me cos i feed them phe
  17. So did we decide that these 'Greyhound' ferrets at 25 quid, were not even greyhound ferrets? Romany, can you give me the number for the folk paying 50 quid for a well bred ferret? I got a yacht i fancy!
