There is NO logic in that mate. Any ferret bred should be well reared, tame, easy to handle and off good, proven working stock. In my opinion money and working animals do not mix well. I have a litter just that this that was born a couple of days a go. What is surplus to my requirements will go to new homes for free. yes and you know they will get tested ,the day i cant get a free kit or2 for the price of a drink or a few nets is the day i chuck it .working stock to working homes is the only way and u get to meet some cracking people on the way . just another thought on t

That IS true, it's a bit of a Catch 22, if your new to it and don't know any one, your a bit screwed, or at least it takes a lot longer. Simple answer is, if you were not lining Gem, it'd take a lot longer for me to find the pup i wanted, but i'm sure with enough feelers out for long enough, something good would come up, it usually does (Can't beat optimism). Just might have to put in some time and miles. Think about that guy we met at the show with the collie/greys, or that Keeper mat, with one? Or the guy with that stud dog? Yer, gave a load of abuse as well, everyone thought he was a teenager, until they read his post looking for land and realized he was in his 30's! Spends a lot of his time telling folk that they are stupid, which is rather ironic. And all this knowledge of running dogs has been learnt since jan/feb when he got one off here for free at 2 yrs old.

A higher price does not equate to a higher standard of ferret, and in general those selling for a higher price, are interested in the money rather than breeding the best. David Hancock has been in business breeding collie lurchers for almost 30 years. It's a pretty tall order to set up a business of any kind and still be trading after that length of time. Don't think for one minute he'd have survived this long if he'd been breeding shit as most of his knockers will tell you. You'll know what you're getting and you'll never need to come on here, post pics and ask folk what they think "is in her" and have mind boggling permutations posted back. I had to bail just after snapping those as the big boar in that family group came barreling over, mind you, those sows would have had me if i didn't have the dogs between me and them. I know where they have their young, so you can go in and they will come and face you off to keep you away, and you get a kind of mexican stand off, if they decide to go mind, your f****d.
