As has been said the VAST MAJORITY of people if not all, jab their jills when they see them starting to come into season, or a bit after they are in. Your vet is expensive and doesn't know much about ferrets at all, just like a lot of vets. The problem is, why do they not say something like 'I'm not sure i will look it up" rather than just making up some complete rubbish. Seems like it's a vet thing.

Yes mate, no rabbits. What is legal / illegal and what happens is different, just like here matey Although to be fair my experiances are a long the Slovak border rather than in central poland.

Too true mate, i had to move back here cos of the bloody missus! WIll be back off again though as soon as she gets herself sorted. Just have to decide where! If poland does turn out to be good for hunting I'll be moving here for a good chunk of the year I reckon....some of the birds are truly stunning!!! Yes mate, plenty of beautiful women. I went out single and moved back with a woman.

Those that have teckels? How were they to train and do you have problems with them ranging ahead? I really fancy a small 'hound type' dog for bushing / working cover, but with the land we hunt i can't really be fecked chasing it across mountain tops or waiting for an hour for it to emerge from forestry plantations?

To be fair even if the dog is a quitter or a failure it still deserves a bit of respect in it's death, and how come people always need to 'prove' themselves as 'proper' terrier men by mentioning culling as often as they can cram it in any one thread? Just adding fuel on a fire imo.

When it comes to marking you can't really 'teach' or 'train' it. Just expose the dog to a lot of holes, especially ones you have seen rabbits drop into. And if possible, let it watch some being bolted out. Don't praise the dog too much as this could lead to false marking. Finally - another type of dog might be a more useful ferreting partner and ANY (well almost) dog can be trained to not 'savage' rabbits. In fact i would go so far as to say most working dogs do not unless a bit useless. One last thing, if you intend the dog to grab / hold the rabbits in the net, then you wont be able

It wasnt hot out at all. About 57 I believe or right near it. The other dogs were hot but not like him and like I said, he didnt get as far into as they did. Weird one that mate, shame though, hope his replacement does you proud.

See what i won't to know is are these 'greyhound' ferrets actually a true breeding greyhound type (long, lean, very roached back, sharp pointed face) or these tiny wee runty 'micro' things people are calling greyhounds now?
