  2. 100 % down to the ground. I.E ferreting is very successful, but not much use if the warrens are not really on your ground, or it is summer. A mod'd rifle and night vision is a very lethal way of quickly reducing the rabbit population, if you are willing to put in a couple of long night shifts and have safe land to shoot. As said trapping / snaring can also be very good and these methods are working when you are not there. An ideal combination would be to go down one day or two, ferret and collapse / fill in, every burrow you can (collapsing etc optional), and set snares on ever
  3. well get your self some grahounds then mate there small and hard as f**k Not being funny mate, but 'greyhound' ferrets are traditionaly fairly large, well at least long, and lean, and have a roach back, hence the 'greyhound' moniker. People often refer to small ferrets as 'Greyhounds' but when you think about it, why the feck would you use that term to describe something very small???
  4. They are about in the wild 100%, in at least two counties to my knowledge.
  5. Ferret porn . . . .. Hard to say from the photo, their balls do drop down when in season and shrink back up when their season ends. Possibly look a little big, mabe just as it's warm. Is he sensitive at all? (That's right, go stroke his nuts!)
  6. Anyone sound as f**k whos wanting a hob from good lines???

been a while mate, get in touch

  7. I'd say it would do the job by the sounds of it
  8. Not being funny, but reading your advert for the pups, you say that both dam and sire are excellent dogs etc, and looks like you are rearing them well. . . . . so why would you want to buy in a pup?
  9. At that age, a mess about in the garden is plenty mate If you got her at 8 weeks, you've had her for three. Just concentrate on piling good food into the dog and bonding as much as possible with it
  10. Do you know what lines are in her pal? SHe's certainly a fit animal, and has a keen look to her. Also i know it don't matter, but i like her markings
  11. f*****g Mixi Bad.

      we have it also...

  12. Aye 8 weeks, eating meat and biscuit and drinking from bowls and bottles, ensures a pretty good start in life.
  13. Ain't my dream at all mate, don't want silly big, but i like a good sized, long, lean, hard jill
  14. As said, i wouldn't want this post to go downhill, and end in some kid of silly argument. But i would like to say that it is NOT anything to do with land jealousy, i was merely engaging in a discussion and possibly giving some advice ( i have more land than i can handle here at it's a lot less than 30,000 acres). Whilst i agree that some farmers do not wish all pests to be eradicated totally, it is i feel a sensible suggestion that an air rifle and a couple of lurchers in the hands of 1 or 2 people in their free time is not going to make even a noticeable impact on the rabbit, fox, dee
  15. Think that could be it mate..... Caught her trying to drag the other into the nest on lockup tonight.... Think you may have hit the nail on the head! Darryl
  16. Looks like she's trying to scruff you Jill jab does the same to one of mine mate, makes her think shes a mom all of a sudden She's forever dragging the other jills into the nest and alternates between trying to drag me in as well, and trying to see me off.
  17. Either that or she has hurt herself, if you say she is funny with being held / picked up.
  18. Hormones mate, fecking hormones, typical bloody woman.
  19. Jan 11th. . . . . LAST YEAR! Kay - aye for some reason folk think a 6 month diploma in animal fiddling makes you the next James Heriot.
  20. Never had any problems feeding a small amount of meat over night and removing in the morning, as long as the nest boxes are cleaned fairly regular. Having said that, my litter have a big chunk of rabbit in with them now, and it'll be gone before the flys really get to it (i also have a fly screen over the kits cage) I tend to feed kits soaked and mashed kibble mainly as most of the kibbles you get are a funny shape that can easily get stuck in a kits mouth (at least i have found), and also by soaking it, the kits are getting fluid with the kibble (which is VERY dry otherwise). I us
  21. Keep her on the rabbit mate, would be a bit unfair on the wee things if because they got a bone stuck one time, they were never allowed real food again. It happens from time to time, but i have a fair few stinkers here and i can say its pretty rare (i.e i aint seen it in mine for the last couple of year).
  22. Not exactly woman of the moment are you. And sounds like you have a hard time reading, as he clearly said he did not trap it himself. Also when setting mink traps etc, where should the sign be afixed that says, "Dear Polecats, please do not enter my trap as DEFRA may get shirty" And maybe you should go to college, as last time i checked it was spelled 'doubt' rather that 'dought'. Why is it always a 'ferret lady' or 'ferret girl' ????? Fecking menace (Other than you Kay, you're sound as feck)
  23. Works a treat, and as said, works well with sticks and stones as well.
  24. AYe, if that's someones idea of how to treat mange . . . . .
