Pest control company, selling books and dvds, giving demos etc and taking folk on courses. If you are thinking of making a living out of catching bunnies i wouldnt bother.
-
Well done Pat lad, just take it real slow and easy now mate, you got the rest of the summer to slowly build him up.
-
It's amazing what they can come back from mate. Well done for taking care of him.
-
I usually give them till six months at least, or sometimes longer (especially hobs), until they are nice and settled and stopped being babyish and playing about. I know it's different if you have new kits and are itching to get going, but as i'm not in that position i never rush. I might take them a long in the box to get used to that etc, but i like them to be at that age when they first enter a warren, that they can handle it well and get instant early success, rather than being a bit overwhelmed. Just my opinion.

Guy seems like a fecking tool, but FTB, you seem a little obsessed. THLpat- 250-300 is FINE by me, as long as it's a cracking pup, bred from cracking dogs, for the right reasons. I payed 200 quid for my last pup and i am def happy with that.
-
And feckin rightly so.......why should they get paid they cost people money by taking strike action. I didn't say they should, i was just giving the facts in the face of claims that the tax payer was going to have to pay them a days wages for not working. . . . . By the way mate, i went into school to work.
-
If you had been doing a job for say 20/30 years, and every month and year, you payed money from your wages into a pot, and were told that at the end you would get a good chunk of it back as a pension when you retired at a certain age. And then after a long career, were told, actually we spent the money you gave us, so it aint there, and you aint getting it, oh and you need to work for 8 more years to not get it. . . . . You'd be a little f****d off no??? In my opinion we should stick together in the face of the government trying to f**k us over. Also one more point - it was only one (

As for all this "oh they get long long holidays and do nothing in them" - TOTAL f*****g BOLLOCKS! Any idea just how long all the marking, lesson planning and general paper work and admin takes???
-
Firstly, most teachers on strike will not get payed for today. Secondly, we would not have this problem if labour had not plundered the pension funds. Thirdly, they do one of the hardest and most important jobs, for what is realistically fairly crap pay, and get very little respect. I'm sure all of the folk running their mouths off on here have some experience of doing that kind of job?

Course that's the case on here mate! Those 'free to good working homes' pups are not that likely to be put up on a forum for anyone to take home, but to be passed out to mates etc. You're not likely to see an advert in the free ads - "Quality litter of pups, sire and dam top workers day and night (can be seen), well reared, socialised etc, free to anyone, first come, first served". So you will never see those free pups on paper. What i meant about charging, is that, once you have given out the pups to your mates etc, if you had one left over, it would be great if you could find a y

So now you're sticking up for him? The guy is selling 1st x saluki/whippets that have collie in them but he's saying the collie's been bred out. Jai my friend go read his for sale thread.........and as for most folk wanting a lurcher being fecked, maybe if there weren't people willing to pump lurchers out ten to the dozen the running dog game wouldn't be in the state it is. I was NOT sticking up for him AT ALL mate, that was a totally seperate point about the cost of dogs! Nowt to do with THIS litter. I.e - not everyone can get a free, well bred, dog, off a mate. In that ca

Nowt wrong with a fat pup, as long as it's not obscene, i was always told to pile it into them when they are pups, and worry about their weight etc when you start to get them fit to work. -
Is that a reply to my post mate? No mate, to the original one Not aimed at anyone i particular, just an observation
-
It's all very well saying that, and i agree in principle, but what happens if you are not lucky enough to have a close group of mates, breeding their dogs, and giving you a pup, what are you meant to do? People always go on about how the best dogs are gifted etc, and only bred to be passed around friends, and never sold, well that makes you kind of f****d if you are new to the game, don't know others in the game etc. Many folk take the piss, breeding too much, without putting thought in etc, and that's a problem, but if you are producing decent pups, out of decent dogs, then i don't think

just when you think donedeal cant get any worse

Whate ever happened to the good old days, if you just wanted a pet for round the house / yard and didn't need a dog to complete certain tasks, you just went to the pound etc and got yourself a scruffy mongrel, in one of a range of sizes. Now instead, some dopey cu.nts churn out tons of mongrels and before relegating them to the pound, try to flog them for a fortune. Nuts. -
All the peddling aside. . . . . . 200 quid isn't really that much to pay for a decent dog, if you think what it will do for you over it's life etc. And not everyone has a group of friends with legendary super dogs, willing to do one off matings, and gift them a pup, that allows them to feel superior / a cut above the rest. Sometimes in here, there is a little too much hubris about how little was payed for a good dog, or how a good dog was given for free and could never have been bought. If good dogs are only bred by mates, given for free, and never sold etc, then most folk

The problem with catfood mate, is the protein is actually pretty low, and a lot of it is derived from non-meat sources. It also has a lot of filler in it. Ferrets have very short digestive tracts , hence why the eat a lot, shit a lot, and it smells like it does. For this reason they require a minimum meat derived protein content. Having said that, ferrets can and have survived on all kinds of shit, i.e many lived and worked for years on bread and milk. I still wouldn't feed it to them though!

Aye mate, thems the ones! I got one albino hob in the litter mate, head like a fecking bucket Nice litter that 2 jills and a hob, i kind of wanted to keep two jills from this litter but have promised one away to a young lad, so will keep one, probably the albino (the other is sandy, both are cracking and it's a tough choice), i'll also keep the albino hob and one of the remaining sandy hobs, and then need to find a good, deserving home for the remaining hob. Look forward to seeing your new lad mate! And yep, they are out of Ruby, put to my hob Bear, that's kind of why i will probably ke

They have dry in there as well, mainly to bulk up the jill, but they have a nibble, but are not that interested, even soaked. Drop some bunny in though and they all wake up and set to like piranhas! It's great watching them
-
I always found that kits who were given flesh and bone from a young age seem to grow bigger and stronger than those on dry. . . . . or maybe it's just my imagination.
-
Had a nice wee litter this year, first time i've bred in an age. The Jill had 3 hobs and 2 Jills, i'd have preferred it the other way round, but such is life. Keeping 3 of them, and one is going to our 13 year old apprentice. They are 6 weeks ish now, and have been destroying about a rabbit a day for the last 3 weeks (with mum). I own both hob and jill. Anyway, here's two of them having a munch and a rag.
