O yer also had a funny one today i forgot to mention, dog marked a set in some pines, but did not mark a hole, marked a spot that had been scrapped out half a foot, was keen as feck, had to drag him off before he started digging. I netted up assuming the rabbit was just below the surface and he could smell it through the soil, entered the ferret, down a hole a foot away but she was not that interested. . . . . . so i tried couple more holes and the same. So i went to the scraping, dug it out a bit with my hand and found a bit of a hole, dropped the jill there and she shot down, came out coupl

To be honest mate, the snow doesn't really bother me, got the quad, and if not i can always just walk out, and get some done! Worst thing about it last year was the nets freezing solid and not pursing, my hands feeling like they were going to fall off, not being able to get pegs in the ground etc, but it beats the heat any day!

f**k me, something interesting at last . . . . . . . well done! Now can everyone else stop using a pubic forum to air your dirty laundry?

Cheers guys! I just want the snow now. . . . . .nothing better than walking out, first light, snow on the ground, trees all rimmed with frost and ice, all the cover dead and all the bunnies tucked up warm and safe (thats what they think) at home.

Cheers matey, could have had a few more, but the sets were either too big and a bit visible, for one man, one jill and one dog to do quick, or would have ended up with the jill meeting her larger, smellier cousins and i'm not sure it'd have gone in her favor. Hope you do well next week! Sunday should be good for us, no matter what the bag is, it's just nice to be back out with good company, all the dogs together, and have a full day at it, will probably be too much cover and not enough bunnies but such is life! Will be having a couple more short walks at least before then though.

Took the dog for a walk after work today, took one of the jills and a half dozen nets a long as usual. Decided to explore some new footpaths, the dog had a good hunt about, and got some good marks, but most were either too big and not well placed to do, or had been part occupied by the b*****d stripy rats. Did drop her down two small sets though and took one from each. Was a pleasant stroll. Can't wait to get back at it properly, starting this Sunday, with johnnyboy68 and young tom (the apprentice) coming up for a day out.

f*****g hell, some of you lot want to get a dog or a ferret or something, might give you something to fill your time with, other than all this flirting, i know shooting stuff is boring as f**k, and you must be looking for other avenues of amusement, but f*****g hell, you are a bunch of sad, boring c**ts. SHut up and f**k off, or meet up and batter ten shades of shit into each other and be done with it.

no mate they have both had a seasons work behind them and both come from a strong working line but i just wanted to see them work for another season for myself before i even thought about breeding them and only then to keep the line going and to keep for myself or maybe couple of close friends but now it seems its not the the thing to do to breed half brother/sister so its not something im going to do now anyway. Fair play. For me half brother and sister AND silver would be a big no no. In some situations i may well consider breeding half brother and sister.

A mix of spun poly, two different sizes, some big nylon nets, and a handful of hemp. But the hemp die quick, even trying to dry them out, if you are out day after day, they never really get a chance to dry properly.

Aye mate, you are right, we see it around here a lot, where you had family farms, the family cannot make it in farming any more, the kids move to the city, the farm is sold, to some yuppies who want to move out of the city and commute, they sell off the barns, to more yuppies, for very expensive barn conversions, the land is sold off to contract farmers, who eventually sell it to barret homes or tescos when they get the right price offered, and it goes on and on. Thing is farming is dead, unless your a millionare, you cannot even get your foot in the door. . . . . Very sad.

Cannyboy - if you have had ferrets for 20 years, you should know that by the end of this coming season they won't have done enough to have 'made the grade' for breeding (assuming they are this years kits).

Priceless.

You if you tried hard enough.

Anyone can book the place for the day, i could book it and have a welsh people over 6ft only day. You short english folk would be refused entry. It's hardly like it's an alton towers policy to refuse entry to non muslims etc. It's just business.

Pointless cruelty.

OK they spoke to someone over the phone about 2 ferrets with no tails it showed them going to collect them from the guy but never showed these tail less ferrets Why? Like elmer fudd I've never known a ferret eat its/or another ferrets tail. Have you? I have seen and had ferrets with no tails and always the result of folk keeping ferrets together and letting siblings mate each other resulting in the whole litter being born without tails Probably sounds better to these people that these ferrets have eaten their tails? Y.I.S Leeview Alright Sherlock, i'm not going to get into an arg

Nothing wrong with buy your stalkng or shooting by the day. Its what keeps many keepers and stalkers in fulltime employment. There are lots of keen legitimate sportsmen who's only opportunity to have some sport is if they put their hands in their pockets and buy a day or two. No all of us are of the opinion that we should get it for free simply becos we demand that the FC should hand it over to us under the guise of running some half baked training program Or think it's morally ok to hope over the fence and take the dog for a wander whenever we feel like it, regardless of the law. Respect

Well this one will open up a can of worms.... He is getting stick for comparing running foxes and dog fighting, ffs mate you can clearly see that. And why would you pigeon hole all lads that run fox as there main quarry as you did? Since you have mentioned the 'sticking the fox' i would love to see the amount of people who actually do that.....i bet its a very small number if any?...... Read what i wrote properly lab. And stop being a shit stirrer. I was in no way pigeon holing all lads who run foxes, you just made that up to suit yourself. I can also clearly see that the lad is n

I don't get why MC HUll is getting the stick, he has a point, if you want to see your dog fight shit then get a fighting dog, not a hunting dog, if you get your kicks from watching two animals try to tear chunks out each other there is something wrong with you in mine (and most hunters eyes). Bunch of kids standing in a field filming their shitty bull x, trying to make a meal of a fox just so they can run home and stick it on face book? That aint hunting. Stick the fox and move on, get a better dog. As for dumping roe cos you dont like eating them? Don't run them, simple. f****
