  1. Mate of mine made a killing buying old kimonos, saris etc, and getting them refurbed a bit and selling them on. In the end he was getting lots of old silk kimonos sent over from japan.
  2. Well done mate! That's a good score for up there with no dog! I'm tied up next weekend, the missus is here until Sunday morning, but how do you fancy one last mooch the following weekend? (I assume you are busy during the week?).
  3. Aye, someone i know got them selves a ferret finder for about 10 quid, as the folk didnt know what the 'remote' was for.
  4. Well done. . . . but most ferrets will bolt a fox, if the fox can bolt and you are being quiet. And i dont think anyone said eus didnt work, just that they didnt work any better than a decent ferret . . . . certainly not £40 better
  5. Kent hunter - Cheers mate, he does for me. Bigthug - Further north than you mate, but not crazy far. They move a lot quicker in the back of a truck though
  6. Right, no air rifles. Well then my friend, the only way to do it, is to do it the normal way. Decent marking dog, nets, well fed pug, disco carrot and sharp spade, and just get and do it, if you hit it asap, it wont be too bad with the cover at least. Like i said, if you need a hand, give us a shout.
  7. If you are stuck mate, i will give you a hand. There is nowt you can do about the young, just dont take a ferret that kills and sticks. You ARE going to end up digging though, and getting stung to feck, and miss a lot of holes, and so miss rabbits. Worse thing is waiting for ages while they chase down and kill the puff balls, it just takes ages. Best method to get them down quick on a golf course and without bothering anyone, is doing the rounds at night on a golf buggy, with a lamp and high powered air rifle.
  8. Good mothers are rearers - once the young survive the first few weeks, they usually all make it to adult hood, a long as some nasty hunter doesnt get them And donk is right, them and the fallow are rife!
  9. You are dead right there Paulus - they are incredibly intelligent animals, and learn quite quickly if you mean harm or not. So after a few times chucking food to the sows, they start to come in when they see you, and the piglets learn from their mums. However just like crows, if you raise a gun or a stick like a gun, they run like f**k, same if they see the dog (the little ones). Also quite right about the big males, they are just naty b*****ds and yup, they have had me up a tree a few times. Sorley - few months mate
  10. Think that one might be ready to drop as well mate! Paulus - Aye, they have stripes when they are a bit younger than that, this lot have lost them. Them ones are about finns size.
  11. Donk - i know exactly what they are like when they have young, we have had a few litters here and i have accidently disturbed one, leading to a f*****g chase and a climb! Retic - Aye there are a couple of monster specimins in that wood - there is plenty of food and i will admit i have been dumping turnips etc about the place.
  12. Good observation mate. It's a funny situation . . . . they are penned in one of the woods on the estate (but are true wild boar), but its a big area and they are allowed to do as they please, and have raised a number of litters. The area where the photos are taken, is where they bed down and wallow, as there is a stream that crosses the woodland there. You can usually catch up with them at that point. However, it has been noticed this year, that there are pig signs (rooting etc) in numerous places on the estate outside this woodland, and it seems that they pretty much come and go as they p
  13. Yep, they are a fair lump of meat. Got to be the toughest quarry on our fair isles, especially the big males. Seen one pretty much eat a dog, although it was a lab
  14. I just think there is a world of difference between a dog scrapping with its kennel mate, and going for a person, the latter probably needs a hole in the ground, the former, just needs a bit of putting in line
  15. That's the first time i've seen you give what i would call 'extreme / bad ' advice. If a dog is difficult in any way . . . . . put it down.
  16. Sure its just not the time where the dog now asserts itself as the dominant animal, i would have said that it was always going to happen, and will sort itself out. Or just follow the THL standard advice and 'get rid mate'.
  17. Pretty much across the board mate, for all the big ones.
  18. Of which 1.99 a month gets spent on range rovers and lap tops for the 'charity'.
  19. Yup, and people only give a shit about the 'in' crises at the moment.
