I took my Nan out for lunch today, and while I was tucking into my steak, I got a text from a friend of a friend, who is running a kind of kids, out doors, bush craft, type camp thing. . . . with a bunch of kids about 10-14. She was saying that they wanted to cook some wild game with the kids, and show them how to prepare it, and give them a real camp fire eating experience. The upshot of it, was that she was wondering if I could provide a couple of fresh rabbits. . . Well, the season is almost upon us, and it seemed like a good excuse to get out for an hour and have a mooch, with one of t

I guess the short version is that some folk like smart dogs and some folk fear them.

The Bullets Sidekick.... Aka... Ruby....
Ideation replied to B.P.R's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Too right mate. They are HARD work, to do right. -
We kept two collies for sheep and I hunted and ferreted with them. It worked out fine. But I think i'd probably get the sheep based training in first and then turn them on to hunting? I can see potential training problems if you tried it the other way around or along side each other. Maybe i'm wrong though.

I'm going to hold up my hands now and say I don't clean mine every two days. As long as they have water, they can happily go a day without food, so it's no massive drama if they do stuff themselves silly, and run out. Just worry about security and water

Jai - I think there was 7 in the litter....I don't know what happened to the others apart from the ones on here...think Phil kept one for himself though... This fella I have here will hopefully figure in future plans...we'll see... Good to talk the other day...take care mate. Always nice to chat mate. Looks like the future could be interesting

. . . . . and in fact i believe that they are against organised religion, cults etc.

. . . . . .. that doesn't sound right. They are just an anti-capitalist, anti-governmental group . . . . .

Haha ain't that the truth buddy....looks a bit narrow across the chest with a snipey head too don't you think lol? No bone, bad feet and cloddy...will be far too slow and I almost forgot...not near racy enough... . . . . . . you forgot. . . . too smart!

Iolo. . . . . short for Iowerth, which is Welsh for 'Handsome Lord' . . . . quite a fitting name Aye, looks like the future could be interesting in the cold North.

I believe that it was 6 Andy. Possibly more. The whole litter looked good, but if i'm honest, that dog of Colins stood out from the moment we laid eyes on them. There was another bitch that caught my eye, i'm not sure what happened to her. . . . And I think you are right about him being fairly sort after for a lining if it goes well. In fact. . . . . Colin and I were wishing life away on the phone the other eve, and discussing just that . . . Hope all is well with you matey. Jai.

Takes up place on the plate mate, waste of time. Dippy yolks all the way That steak was superb. . . . for the record.
-
Don't see the point of the whites really, pulled the yolks out of four, chucked the whites to the dogs and just dropped the four yolks in a pan. Had one burst a bit but 3 nice runny ones.

Beef from the farm. Potatoes and onions from the garden. Eggs from the chickens. Mushrooms picked from the field.

To Much Help For A Pup Is No Good ......

To be fair, if you are going to go to the effort of building something, do it right and knock up a court, as big as space will allow. Much better in my opinion, I like to see the stinkers able to be out and about in the sun etc. Or if you cant be fecked, look for one of those chicken house things, I got one here, think it was only aout 100 quid new, the kind that takes 4 chickens or something, with a wee house, and run around it / under neath it. Chucked down some slabs, bolted it to that, job done, happily houses the 4 hobs in luxury, while the jills are in heat in the main court.

You can even have too many at night . . . . Been asked to ferret through a place in the past, so that the lad could lamp it better. . . . .
-
Celeb bb launch : ) In the words of the prophet. . . . . f**k that. I might resort to going out with the lamp. . . . . without the dog. Or maybe giving the hound x a few runs on it?

Just make a list of questions mate, and they will be answered one by one, i'm sure. I'm sat home alone, with the mutts and there's feck all on t.v
