  1. A local guy, been making nets since the 70's . . . they come in bright orange and bright green.......
  2. Spun Nylon, quality hand made nets, with pegs. . . . . i can buy for £1.50 for 3'6", and £1. for 4 foot! Why make them myself lol.
  3. . . . . Just found something that I think may be traceable. . . . . and I know is valuable. . . . but I don't think the police would find the owner. . . . it kind of fell out of the sky. . . . But if I tried to sell it . . . . it might arouse some suspicion...
  4. Double question. . . . . Firstly, if you find something. . . . and decide to hand it into a police station. . . . . and it's not claimed. . . do you get it? And how do they attempt to get it back to someone? Also - Anyone ever found anything valuable or strange. . . .?
  5. Yes I did mate. Pm on its way!
  6. Hello All, I've asked this a few times on here, but never really got a response. I'm looking to buy a G.P.S collar and tracking unit, and have been looking at the Garmin Astro / Alpha. Has anyone used one over here, and has anyone used these models? Does anyone know a good place to pick one up this side of the pond or do they need to be brought in from the states? Can you d/l u.k maps for the american systems? Any help would be much appreciated, as currently I seem to be doing more and more hunting, where a G.P.S would be very handy and would save a little bit of stress
  7. A lab. And that's the truth. . . . . in the excitable department.
  8. I find hobs are handy in some situations. Once the rabbits start to f**k about, if the sets are shallow, sometimes it's easier to just kill them and dig them, if it's total elimination Also I just like the big feckers, and mine aren't that big to be fair Clear a warren real quick as well.
  9. Glad it's going well for everyone. . . . . BRY - Thanks a lot for being there mate. . . . . and I really missed you in the last drive, I had to run Jeff ragged , and we missed a lot of birds even so, but still, plenty came out. Aye, the new wellies must have done it. I'm keeping them clean for the next shoot day. . . . . they're my 'smart wellies' A few rats are starting to appear now mate
  10. 7 Jills 5 Hobs But 3 of the jills are retired. Funny how so few folk work hobs and yet litters are bred. . . . . ?
  11. One breeds a couple of litters a year maybe. . . the other always has pups and saplings available, often multiple litters at once. . . . .
  12. Ideation for Mod........ In the words of the messiah. . . . . f**k THAT!
  13. Just for the record. . . . I realise that the original thread was most likely a piss take. . . . and this thread wasn't aimed at any one person. But this place is becoming somewhere that if someone puts a foot wrong or gets owt wrong. . . . they are slammed, and not just in a constructive or jokey way. A lot of the time it seems that some folk use it to make themselves look big or seem knowledgeable. . . Most of this thread however, was aimed at the fact that the two camps on the thread then suddenly started launching into each other and bickering like wee girls, including some pretty
  14. How long would you leave it after a course of a/b's to run a dog?

    1. paulus

      paulus

depends on what they were prescribed for or whether its you or the dog taking them

  15. Everyone should go and read it through and realise what a joke this place is. It's embarrassing, the replies on there are unbelievable, like a bunch of bullying, bitchy teenage girls, who start off laying into some poor sod and then turn on each other. Some of you need to get a f***ing grip, a life and maybe even a job.
  16. We did pretty well, at least I was pleased. Some may know that I am pretty new to keepering. . . . . last season was my first real season doing it on my own. I took over on a shoot that was failing. . . . badly. Their best day for the season preceeding my take over was 57.. . . . and they were shooting a lot of 20/30 bird days. Last season went well. . . . although the weather etc was pretty forgiving in some respects. Our highest day was 111 picked on the day, with 115 picked by next morning. This season has been a ball ache to hold the birds, with the good weather etc and we
  17. We had our first driven day of the season today. How is your summer been lads and have any of you started at it, and if so, how's it going?
  18. Congratulations matey!
  19. It happens. . . . they are flesh eating, predatory animals. I have a weak jill here.. . . . . any other ferret put in with her bar one. . . . tries to kill her.
  20. First shoot day of the year today . . . . .

  21. Love it stan. . .good luck matey.
  22. Seven dogs take a lot of hiding / keeping. Not like you could keep them quiet in your flat for a long time. So they either got them out the way, on a site etc. Or spread them between folk, or trying to move them quick.
