  1. Wales never forgets her children pal, even if they are born elsewhere. it's funny that Malt,i forgot to add in my original post that i even have welsh neighbours(me and her have been busy working too hard)that i think we possibly have neglected in the last year or so.not intentionally it just happens as we both tired, you could be right there, Higgins
  2. Happy NEW YEAR TOM,i'm in an identity crisis at the moment so i'm getting pissed(or trying to on 2 bottles of wine and a decent supply of Boddingtons),i've just realised although i'm English,i feel Welsh, but absolutely love the Scots,Ha Ha,and on top of all that i have to do it again next month as my missus is chinese and her children are half irish and half italian chinese, and my terrier is from BARNSLEY?Now you know why i'm f****d up,but as in all traditions, keep the faith everyone and let's all share our land as it's difficult getting permissions these days, the only common link to everyone
  3. If you're ever heading as far to the south west as Pembrokeshire, chuck me a PM and I'll see if we can sort something out. Be it fishing, a bit of dog work or otherwise. will do Malt,i actually went camping down there once, absolutely loved it despite the fact that my cam belt went on my 4x4 Daihatsu but at least everyone else got sent home and i got to enjoy everything down there while i had my motor fixed,Wales i love it,i could get lost or break down in Wales and i would still love it,that's why i think i have some welsh blood dominant in me, Higgins
  4. Johnny and Malt and everyone else.Iechyd da, fy ffrind I!...i hope to make some new welsh friends here as i intend to visit Wales more in my Campervan, yacky daa, Higgins.
  5. I have a welsh surname,i have welsh relatives, but can i speak welsh? No,but i can copy and paste so...sut wnaethoch chi ddyfalu??? and ...Blwyddyn Newydd Dda to everyone on THL, Higgins
  6. hello , my name is andrew , i live in burnley and i think anybody willing to invite other hunters onto your permission deserves a bloody medal.!! i live quite a distance away but am allways willing to travel, and love to meet like minded people. would love to take you up on your offer, if its still open. thankyou and kind regards, Andrew (lugsy) Lugsy's right and it's a good offer,at least Brassring is not letting the land go unworked, nice one,atb for the New Year EVERYBODY, Higgins
  7. I normally just have a deep pile of wood shavings, but the other day when i opened thbe hutch door it was iced inside so i threw a jacket in zipped up so they could crawl in 4 together, apart from that been changing the frozen water bottle. It's not too bad now a bit warmer but temps could still drop in middle of the night so i left the jacket in ttilli clean them out next time, Higgins
  8. well merry xmas tben evryone, but that's all your'e gettin.......... Higgins
  9. I'E not boughbt any presents this year but told the missus sbe has to pick something online then i will buy it the kids are getting nothing as tbey are adults now, each year i am getting progressively worse,to be honest i don't care anymore, used to enjoy xmas but now it's tits up and increasingly i wish to be more selfish and spend the time in my own company or with the dogs, merry xmas everyone but don't expect anything and hope you have a good new year! Higgins.
  10. just read this, more bad news and apparently this type of dog is not claasified as being dangerous virgin media Higgins
  11. the vaseline you put on the dog's ears could possibly freeze especially on the hairs of the ear tips,if you can feel the ears with your fingers to see if they are warm,if they are then circulation is good and it's just outer hair that's crispy, Higgins.
  12. it's most likely the hairs on the dog's ears are damp and frozen,if it was the ears the whole ear would be solid or off colour,or has this been the case also? Higgins
  13. i have totally trained mine to sort the gear out for the next day's ferreting.I simply chuck in the hutch all last seasons tangled nets, locators, bateries and get them to test it all and pack it away!So keen are they, they are usually finished packing before teatime! Higgins.
  14. had a Focus 1600 petrol earlier this year,it was a good reiable car until i had some work done on it before the mot was due, spent £370 on it went on holiday and during the return from Ulverston on motorway the oil pump went on me with no warning.I scrapped it on the spot, not trying to put you off or anything just relating my experience and it wasn't diesel so a diesel motor could be better.I now have a diesel transit being converted to a camper, hopefully i get more use out of this as it's our holidays motor, Higgins
  15. i've known a few dickheads that actually force their terriers into earths and when they come out they say the dogs are jackers. The dogs could be young and not ready or inexperienced or more than likely the dog does know there;s nothing at home, but either way these people piss me right off,i don't usually bother with them. You'll know the type as they seem to get through many young/adult terriers in the shortest amount of time and they are forever looking for replacemnets.Proper terriermen will have few terriers and many seasons with the same terriers,I feel sorry for some of these terriers tha
  16. I dont know about everyone else, but I've found that my metal nozzles on my drinkers freeze up well before the water in the bottles, so it can look like they have a drink, when in fact they dont, I now have six bottles to swap around, I use two at a time, so I change them three times daily, but then this weather is very extreme, so I'm not taking any chances Good point Stealthy1,i wonder if they were made of plastic then they wouldn't freeze..... Higgins
  17. Hi mate, have a look on this forum, plenty on cold starts wit transits....Ford Transit Forum Higgins
  18. i lost one jill but this was after the first snows when thawing, she was in with 4 other jills, never lost any in past due to winter,i put it down to her age and possibly some other underlying illness. The other 4 jills are fine, but water in the bottle has to be filled daily as it just freezes, their hutch has been moved to a less windy part of the garden,so not so draughty and no straw just plenty of deep sawdust.I may put in an old sweater for them to bury themselves in as a precaution in case it starts getting colder again,i think there is more snow on the way soon, Higgins.
  19. Ive got four jills together, did have 5 but the old jill died,in this weather i'm sure they'd be interested in keeping warm together,so the more the merrier, Higgins.
  20. Also remember that batteries capacity will drop greatly by up to 50% of it's cca amp rating,so always make sure it's fully charged, the best thing is to bring it indoors and put it on charge overnight, Higggins

it's a pain since they changed it but apparently it's quicker, once you've highlighted the correct IMG source code, you just click once which means it's copied, so all you need to do then is go to your forum editing post and right click to paste in your post and it's done, Higgins
  22. Pity your in Kent i 'd have snapped it up!Not been getting out enough and have four jills that need testing,oh well never mind back to the drawing board, Higgins
  23. just got myself some chains, they are not illegal if you use them when stuck, apparently you need at least six inches of snow on the road but as long as your struggling and can't see tarmac or black on the road you'd be fine as long as you took them off when the road is clear. It's somethbing to do with damaging the surface of the road.in uk they are not law yet,but if you crossed the water and head for Switzerland,Austria etc;(not sure about France,Spain etc;)then border control won't let you through unless your carrying them along with other compulsory safety gear(Hi Viz jackets etc;), Higgbin
  24. yes mate she was lighter than the other one she has been since i got them in the summer and she was the best worker! I change the bedding every few days but as the ferrets are free to go out side in there run i wonder if the bedding has got wet from the snow then the cold might have killed her? just lost my old jill today(wasn't the cold as we in the thaw now)it's sad but i have her daughter which is a double of her, well i hope i don't lose any more, from now on, Higgins
