  3. has your camera got an infra red light source,as it will be a black picture without it,or are you adding it into the system?Any idea when you will be doing this?Good luck, Higgins.
  4. i ve steamed wood in the past to make the bows of horse drawn carriages,is there a different technique required to curve wood required in the making of ferret boxes, any tips greatly appreciated, Higgins.
  5. lhTarnam remember Malham Tarn very well, suprised Snoops had connections there...interesting,but the area in general is a top place, also bejind the cove a bit lower down.is some nice walks, which culminate in a climb up Scordale scar as was documented on a recent TV programme,a place well worth visiting even if your not after. rabbits....... 6. omewell i was ferreting one day(poaching on some gamekeepers patch)and i entered my reliable a nd trusted jill in this medium sized warren, and after 10 mins bolted 3 rabbits, but the last one that bolted looked bigger than my 12 pound terrier,it was so large my 31/2 foot nets just slid off his head,as my 12 pound terrier gave chase i couldn't help thinking this magnificent giant creature would evade capture as i know my terrier would never be able to hold him, sure enough as my terrier caught up with him and they both struggled,i witnessed the rabbit give my terrier a good back kick that sent
  7. as lamps glow, what you are looking for is a battery that can supply the amount of power needed in your circumstances for how long you intend to lamp, coupled with a lamphead that produces the cleanest narrow beam that suits you,the bulb will determine how long the battery will last, Higgins.
  8. 17 amp is a mininum must for all night power requirements,as for the head it depends on the area you would like to illuminate over a certain distance, and whether you prefer a narrow beam as opposed to a wide beam, also the bulb must be of a suitably efficient wattage, Higgins.
  9. occasionally i refer to them as Patterdales as the name conjures up images of black or red terriers,it seems the name has stuck with them now,the fell terrier has most breeds of terrier in it's makeup, but the blacks have well and truly become in vogue so to speak, maybe it's because they are believed to be a separate breed perhaps? Higgins.
  10. thought some fell type terriers were named as Patterdales after the lake district, when black dogs appeared more in the area, most terriers are generally Fell terriers, same with Nuttall's they are associated with Nuttall for breeding predominantly black 'patterdales',there are strains and types, collectively i would prefer to call them Fell terriers, Higgins.
  11. good looking Russell, can see some Lakey influence, all that really matters is if it works and does the job for you then it's a good 'un, Higgins,
  12. I'll go with that one. At least the Polak tried, his English couple where numpts. The geezer builder bloke was typical most for least twat, what thabout the steel... and the hand prints......!! I have been all over the EU and find their practical skills far better than ours. And if a Polak choco maker can eaily beat a cockney whatever builder......that is the real measure off the uk today Seen soooooo many experts in the building industry, yet they all wear slip on shoes. 5hrs working 3hrs tossin yes and the polish builder could even do hairdressing too!How versatile is that? Higgi

    RSPCA

everyone just be aware about the RSPCA,IF YOUR NOT AWARE THEY WILL F**K YOU,regardless of your hunting/non hunting status, they will try to make a case out of you, they are desparate for funds and have to be seen getting convictions,it's not money well spent as they are not doing the job right so the animal owner can be compared to the motorist via persecution from the police,YOU are the easiest target for both of these organisations, better to educate yourself in manners of the law and your rights, forewarned is to be forearmed, atb, Higgins.
  21. welcome pal, hope you enjoy the site, Higgins.

    RSPCA

animal husbandry and general care is now a lot stricter since laws have been changed to suit the RSPCA,be extra careful and vigilante about these 'charities',take note of FGT and Hippychick's posts to educate yourselves, they can now prosecute you for general neglect and lack of care, even the most minor 'offence' can land you in court, whether the animal is suffering or not, Higgins.
  23. the only problems i can forsee at the minute is accumulation of soil on the lens as a result of scaping along the tunnel, and the depth it has to transmit through(clear line of sight really means in my opinion and theirs probably, that there must be no obstruction between transmitter and reciever, thus it will be reduced somewhat thru soil, but then if you choose a shallow warren there is a greater chance of this working, the other thing that may ruin this is the infra red or light emitting diode will suffer the same fate as the lens and therefore the camera will not pick up any illuminated i
