. I wouldn't like ( or ever ) try to fly a hawk at a bobcat....from what I've seen they can make a mess ....don't no about a hawk but a eagle would be more than caperble of taking fox and coyote( there's footage of eagles taking wolves) prity sure eagles would (and have ) take beaver in other country's ......but if flaw states that they have to be taken by hawk then I wouldn't risk it ...

Sounds like it's the hen mate....had the same thing happen to me ...mind did it on one out of 8,,,I found one tiny piece of egg she'll she must off eaten the rest...apparently it's some thing to do with lack of protein.. If it was a rat I'm sure the rat would have a good go at the hen while she's sat tight in the dark -
