    Not sure how long they'd been without mate as the last time I'd checked on them was 11 at night..also I work sundays so u couldn't go get a replacement buld and I'm at work til 6 tonight....next clutch I do I'm going get a hand full of replacement bulbs (I should of befor realy)

    well me and the kids learned a sad lesson today........was gifted some eggs off belucky which have been in the incubator a week yesterday.....got up this morning to find the incubator off,,at first i thought it was normal as the light come on and off to regulate temp but after a bit i new it wasn't right...quick look through the glass and saw the thermometer was low...open lid and the bulb had gone....gutted to say the least..me and the kids were really looking forward to this hatch,more so than the first hatch as with the first hatch they new that it might not work.... the bulb said it had a

    Yes mate it's the same chick.......I took pics of two chicks ( the only two what stand still)but struggled geting the other pics on.......yea I new he was a stag mate by his wing feathers and his lack of tail feathers an lack of feathers on his back.....the females apparently grow there wing tail and back feathers quicker than males..now there over a week old I think I have one stag and four pullets .

    Why is do you say that? ...as all ready stated ferrets don't do well in high temps....also i wouldn't like stick my hand down a hole in South Africa to pull out my ferret as there's a good chance you'll be getting bitten by something nasty lol......

    Hi lads anyone got any tips for occupying chicks in brooder.....there's 2 chicks what are fighting..it seems to be quiet often ...they have fresh water and feed and have a heat lamp is there anything I can put in to keep them occupied .....cheers.....ps sorry if it's a stupid question but I'm a green horn in the world of birds lol

    I was told to leav the hen for two weeksso the seemen from the cock is no longer in the hen........BUT I also read a couple of weeks ago that man loned a hen to aman who put a spangled cock over her......he then gave the man back the hen still threw a spangled chick every now and then......never befor ad the hen frown spangle befor she went out on loan..........duno if it's true just wat I read.....
