What Is A Senceable Limit To Spend On Air Rifle Scopes.
charlie caller replied to VWman's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Nikon everytime bud, they are in a class of their own, that nothing for the price can even get near, I have said this before, I have a Nikon prostaff on my deer/fox rifle, my mate has a Shmidt and Bender on his, we have compared clarity at night, there is bugger all difference, quite astonishing, but actually is it when you consider they make arguably the finest camera lenses in the world? -

Feels Good To Have Another
charlie caller replied to bigmac 97kt's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Cheers Tom its just a shame about the scratches atvbmac  Forget the scratches, get a .177 barrel on the damn thing -
My little male, 1lb3oz got pulled down many a rabbit hole lamping, it was rather frustrating, as he would hit rabbit after rabbit, and lose a good few if I could not get to him in time, for that reason, for my type of hawking, I would never have another male.

For that money if you want new, get a Remington express xp in .177, they are a quality thing, nice two stage trigger, decent scope, silencer, and pretty much full legal power out of the box, a tune would refine one into a very smooth operator indeed, all that for around £150 no brainer if you want the piece of mind buying new brings.

Factory spring, just finished properly I tried a Maccari spring in it when I tuned it,but way too harsh a firing cycle, for anyone considering tuning a 99 dont waste too much effort on pre-load washers to get the power up, I have done two now a .177 and a .22 and adding washers does 99% of fu*k all, a de-burr, de-grease, super polish, and a change of piston washer, (Vortek) does the business, glad you like it Rez, I knew you would, the prosport is now stripped, de-greased, a top hat added and some dri-slide applied, its now running at a mega consistent, like 4fps variance, 11.7ftlbs and only a v

Unless it is like mine, which dropped in straight away and required no fettling at all and at once impoved accuracy to the extent where bedding was not needed.
-
Funny that mine was for my Weatherby vanguard, which is exactly the same rifle as a Howa 1500, and mine is a pepper laminate sporter, Boyds put two steel cross pins, that you cant see in their stocks, one about inch and a half from trigger guard area, the next around 3 inches further along, yours will have them mate, Devcon 10110 mate, but that said I see no reason why you could not use chemical metal, Holts for instance that you buy in the car spares shop, in fact they look so similar, I am not convinced they are not the same thing.
-
I was going to do the same thing with mine, after fitting it, I realised it was not needed, mine is a laminate stock, and what I like about the Boyds is the two steel pins passing through the stock, they do seem to add real rigidity, but if you still want to bed it Acraglass or as Hutchey says Devcon is the way forward mate.

As above, regretful sale of my superb tuned hw99s .22,but a new cf rifle is on the way so something has to go to put towards it. rifle spec. 3 month old rifle bought brand new, comes with a mint Hawke Airmax ev 3-12x40ao scope, brand new one piece mount. Weihrauch silencer, mint condition. The rifle was stripped and de-greased, and a complete de-burr done, piston and rod mirror polished, spring ends mirror polished, a Maccari spring guide and top hat added, and a superb vortek piston seal correctly sized and installed, piston lubed with ptfe dri-slide, spring lubed with the brilliant Ult

Now for someone who is not normally a fan of bullpup style rifles, I rather like that, I might even consider investing in one when they hit the shops :hmm:do you have a link to the review please?

It would be a great experiment to try sitting hidden in blaze orange, like the yanks have to do, I suggest if you wore a face mask and gloves you would shoot just as much as wearing a full ghillie suit, cammo works very well on human eyes, on animals, Im not so sure, thats not to say I dont use it,I do, but it would be fun to try the blaze orange thing out

Good advice above, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for, dont fall into the trap of buying a cheap and cheerful starter rifle, unless all you want to do is plink tin cans, I have no idea what your budget is,and of course you will be dictated by that, but all I have to say is bloody good choice in .177 the best calibre, by far

That bitch is far more dangerous to the German people than Hitler ever was, at least he imagined his Reich was for the good of the people, this sinister bitch knows she is destroying her own people, its going to end very badly indeed

It Never Ceases To Amaze Me
charlie caller replied to bigmac 97kt's topic in General Airgun Discussion
No I wont change his mind, but the little flat, fast .177 will do, with its superior killing power -
An accurate one in .177 calibre, but you must get many hours of practice in before you think about rabbits or other live quarry, air rifles, even fac ones are very low powered, and so a shot placed into the kill zone is vital, also could I ask that you give our wonderful country a capital letter in your location please (sorry pet hate of mine)
