Give it a go dude, I have to say Im impressed with this .177 prosport I got off Rez, now I have added one or two of my own little touches you may even decide on a .177 in your collection mate, dont think too much about the shot, just shoot the damn thing, and you wont shoot high Aint painted camo is it?! Tut tut, what do you take me for man? lets just say the stock is having something of a refurb, I may post a pic or two when its done, shooting very nice now at smack on 11.7 ftlbs, very easy rifle to strip too.

I only have one perm owner that asks me not to shoot pheasants, and I have a fair few dotted about, but on this particular perm, it does not worry me as I am usually carrying a .243 and out after fox or Muntjac

Quite agree Mac, which is exactly what I reminded you when you had the ridiculous idea of packing it in,its either in your blood or not and lets not forget that although we may come under flak from the sweaty hand wringing, bunny hugging brigade, it is not that long ago in the grand scheme of things, where our kind were the most revered members of society, as are hunters in primitive tribes existing today, long may it continue, forget where we come from, and we have no future.

I shot my first rabbit aged 13 with a Crosman .22 pump up pistol, it would kill cleanly out to 15-20 yards or so, I also had a .177 BSA scorpion pistol, that I dropped quite a few bunnies, squirrels, pigeons with, if I can find a mint Webley senior at some point in the future, I will have it, lovely pistols, even the smell brings back happy memories

Howa 1500 Compared To Tikka T3 In 223
charlie caller replied to Marctitty's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I am not an engineer by trade you are correct Ian, however I can spot well engineered products when I see them, having a background in mechanics does help, I am fully aware of the process of blueprinting, and trueing up faces and lugs, when building a custom rifle, but thankyou for pointing that out, I fail to see your correlation between your friend and his ceracoting business and engineering quality? All actions,I would suggest, even belonging to the most expensive hand made exquisite rifles and shotguns, costing many thousands of pounds, will rust if not cared for. Howa also make stainless ri -
Good going Rez, glad you are liking it, I did find the Crosman accupel ft 5.53 to be the most accurate in it, and it also liked RWS superfield I seem to remember, but yes it is seriously accurate, enjoy

Howa 1500 Compared To Tikka T3 In 223
charlie caller replied to Marctitty's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
What a load of crap, Howa/Weatherby, are superb bits of Japanese engineering, made to very close tolerances,as is most Jap engineered stuff,if they were not good quality, lots and lots of rifle builders would not use the Howa action as a base for their custom rifles. -
Spring Rifle... .22 Vs .177
charlie caller replied to jonnie bravo's topic in General Airgun Discussion
It is jolly good fun though Rez eh? The .177 prosport is doing the business mate, had four squirrels with it the other day,its certainly not lacking in accuracy despite me upping the power to 11.7 ftlbs -
Spring Rifle... .22 Vs .177
charlie caller replied to jonnie bravo's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Some very good points raised there Simon, all valid, but just to put a tiny fly in the .22 killing power ointment lets look at side on or chest shot woody's, now I have used air rifles for many years, and have seen woody's fly off so many times body shot with a .22, and drop stone dead body shot with a .177 to make my mind up that the smaller slug is a better dispatcher of game than the larger, it is of course irrelevant if we put a slug into the brain, the calibre matters not, but in my experience, and I know plenty of others who share my thoughts/findings, that .177 when used against tough ( -

Hatsan Model 25, What Are People's Thoughts On Them
charlie caller replied to K.A.G's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I have no experience of Hatstand air rifles, however if they are as good as their semi auto shotguns, you would be better pissing your money up the wall and enjoying it -
Cracking looking rifle mate, and as for the calibre, well you will see try some Baraccuda hunter extreme in it mate if it will shoot them they are deadly in .177, good choice.

Spring Rifle... .22 Vs .177
charlie caller replied to jonnie bravo's topic in General Airgun Discussion
.177 all day long, except in an hw99s which are a better rifle to shoot in the larger calibre, not because they are smoother, but because trying to get full power in .177 is a nightmare, hence why SFS only do a .22 imp, but with a quality rifle, and a tune a .177 springer is a deadly combination. -
