    Although i love the idea of trapping when i go over, i think herself wouldn't be too happy about it! Lol! Although, if i were offered a free trip by a kind local, then i'd find it hard refuse the offer! But as you say, maybe its just not as simple as that! By the way, Canada is also something we'd consider!

    Lads, meself and the Mrs are thinking about a trip to Alaska! Were only starting to save for it now, so wont be happening this year! Thing is were not keen on the idea of spending our trip in a city, but more so in a small town close to the countryside! So anyone been there? Is it expensive? Is it difficult get around, and whats the best time of year to go? Were not one's for getting up all hours of the morning to go on excursions, so we won't need any info on that!

    All that footage could be the foundation for a great dvd! Keep it safe, and add to it as you go along JD! Even if it takes another year or two to get all the footage you need, it'll be worth the wait i'm sure! Would you go for it? Alot of people on here would buy it i'm sure, and a few would promote it too, and set you up with outlets ! By the way, you said all legal traps bar one! Which one? Tube Trap! Just curious!

    Definitely! Big opportunity for someone out there! Maybe cover rat, squirrel, rabbit, and mink! Show some sets, baits, tools, catch's, handy tips, trailcam footage! A propper long one, full of good information!

    Lads just wondering is their any good dvd's out there? I already have Glenn Waters mink trapping dvd, and The Warriners trapping and snaring on tape, along with a couple from the US! Anything else out there worth watching? Something from this side of the waters preferably! I need to keep the mind busy when the traps are back hanging in the shed!

    What size cable do you use JD? Have yet to catch a mink in a snare! Have experimented with 3/64 cable last year, which made a tidy snare, but had no luck!

    That is why spray paint is recomended for water sets, or sets near the waters edge where traps are likely to end up in the water! Saying that, no matter what you use, its something thats meant to be redone each year!

    I spray paint mine lad! Rustolium Mat Black does a good job, doesnt peel off as much as other paints! I dig my sets similar to yourself, and use fish heads, as bait! If your getting alot of rats, may mean mink are thin on the ground, ( might be someone else trapping the area) You could always try feathers in the back of your sets instead of bait, to keep the rats out! A few in the back, and a few placed outside the set works well! I don't have much trouble with people spotting my traps, because i finnish up this time of year! Saying that, i do usually put my sets in overgrow

    Apparently there aren't any moles in the entire emerald isle. I met a fella from the South (he worked for Eco Lab) on a course a few years ago and all he wanted to know was about mole catching as he had never done it. I heard an unlikely explanation once as to why there are no moles in Ireland. Anyone have any theories? Maybe that ireland split from the British Isles while still in ice age.     Might be possible, but i wonder are the fish already dead before the rats get them! Don't know much about gold fish, but aren't they meant to die for no apparent reason! Well any i had as a kid did anyway! Lol

    Strictly speaking, i don't think its the norm to place trail cams on public footpaths! I mean, who wants photo's of people walking dogs, or scratching their arses! I think if everyone who took a photo or video with their mobile phone without permission were breaking the law, then we'd all end up in court! Just look at the shit on said Facebook! So tell me, whats the difference between finding and stealing a trail cam? Not being smart, just curious what ye all think!

    Jesus i dont know how i've avoided it! Handle a fair few rats, never mind traps, and never wear gloves! Think i need to change my ways!
