  4. you did well, not getting your gear or motor nicked
  5. If she is just not finding then i wouldnt worry just yet, it takes time for a dog to learn how to search a earth well, alot are just too quick to give up on dogs, If it did make contact then came away, well thats a different matter
  6. If the dog works good and hard, locates, everything, just on the big side.DO you keep him if thats the case why would you even concider getting rid ??? a dog is only too big when you atart dropping holes to empty pipes
  7. Well , well done for seeing the light and taking it too the vets, feck me if you went through all the treatments mentioned it would have cost you a fortune, and might not have sorted it, and done more harm than good.... Iv one here that has a allergie to mites and the likes, she started loosing fur in small bits (50p coin size ) they , over a week became irritable to her and quickly spread down both sides of her spine, from neck to tail... not saying its what yours has, just sharing thoughts
  8. very impressed.... give me a shout when its 3 or 4 month, im sure i can find something here that you can put it across, f**k it lets try now its nearlly xmas, , i could do with a few extra beer tokens
  9. Forgive me if im wrong but up here you can run a long dog on a fox, if you have reasonable grounds to believe that its injured and the dogs are the quickest and most effective way of bringing the fox to book... how ever those south of the border have no such luck
  10. Did she rim you again then ??? lol

  12. what you on about mate, proper rock piles, and little gay ones, even proper rock piles as you say sometimes can be dug, depends on were your dog is in the pile, just because they look undigable doesent always mean they are, you can slit the big rocks with sledge hammer and a bar, lift rocks and move them with jacks mate,an sometimes get machines in to help each to there own with meanings of words, but using sledge hammers, jacks, and machines dont come under the word digging in my book... foxs in places like that are killed or bolted the vast majority of the time, very rarely will man g
  13. A proper rock pile wont be dug, little gay ones will, Worked some near Blair Atholl in perthshire next to loch ordie, scarey places for man and dog... For me a good rock dog is one at the top of its game, certainly a different ball game from working normal dens
  14. As above, i see it every where, but never yet in water, it looks like frog spawn but with out the egg sack things in it, a bit like wall paper paste i guess... Can any one enlighten me ??
  15. DnN i quote your .....And im talking digging dogs only, not including the bolting types which some keep, as they are not expected to stay, and some can be called off. (true, they have their uses, but they are really a failed earthdog in my eyes) Whats a failed earth dog? one that can be called off or a bolter ?? Neaps could be called off, but wouldnt leave it unless i shouted her out, and she was far from a failed earth dog (or bitch as it happens)And bolters as im sure you should know are worth there weight in gold in the right places and at the right times..
  16. floods can work both ways in changing pools, some times it works out well for the angler, other times it ruins it for them
  17. Ano things like this cant be helped but id like to think that if we ever came across a pregnant vixen we would release it, only if it was all good and well that is lol, cheers.Luke. protecting game birds? no releasing. global warming is causing allsorts of anomalies. I caught a pregnant doe rabbit last night and doe rats breed year round. RATS AND RABBITS BREED ALL YEAR ROUND, THEIR BREEDING IS BASED ON FOOD AVAILABILITY NOT GLOBAL WARMING. WHAT A LOAD OF BALLS. I WAS CATCHING DOES FULL OF YOUNG IN DEC/JAN 25 YEARS AGO.PREGNANT RABBITS/GLOBAL WARMING, NEVER HEARD AS MUCH SHIT IN MY LIF

  21. go have a read up on what got banned in the hunting act!!! if it gets repealed then fingers crossed the other forms of dog work will again be aloud, we are or should be as one, i wish folk would look at the bigger picture i think you misunderstood me alimac. either that or i'm misunderstanding you here. who knows, were fighting to over turn the ban as a whole, terriermen houndsman lurchers boys, when it gets over turned we should see it once again legal to take our dogs out for some sport, which ever type it may be..

  23. If any one here swings them by the head they get told, a stick, priest, or dispatcher only, once there shot there hung in braces by there necks, or on hooks in singles, the same goes for when there with the game dealer and butcher, and a bird with a broken neck is nothing but untidy and a hassel to sort..
  24. Whin just to clear it up i wasnt aiming the comment at you, it was towards the folk that go out around 2434me ground, they do us dog men no favours at all, there scum.. but listening to you as a so called fellow field sportsman write that must make the antis laugh like feck, so much for sticking together,
