Everyone laughed at the averages at mine, until it was them standing in the hot seat for the day, then they too fell to pieces, you give each birds a extra foot and still aint connecting, they start to think they must be missing infront, but once that doubt has arrived in your head your screwed..iv heard it all before, over & over again.. IMO there's decent birds shown on most shoots but on other shoots drive after drive the human, guns, cartridges & theorys are tested to the limit. Some folk just don't know what a high bird shoot is & what it can do to a decent shots average..

It's when you put the birds over them and the shot counters are going round pdq & they moan that they haven't reached there bag, lol, even though they might of averaged 8/1. A lot of teams struggled getting a bag with us, in the end we started saying in the contracts that it was 150 birds or 750 shots. That sharp put a stop to any moaning by guns that were out classed and firing 1000+ for a handfull over a 100 in the larder..

Now yours will be the only show with them now , sneaky, lol :-)

No matter how mad you get, a keeper should only ever show that to the guns over bad safety issues,, everything other than that "keep your mouth shut" springs to mind.. On a day I had we really struggled in the morning & that was with a really decent team of guns, first drive after lunch we took a huge face of larch out over the river, it was full & went steady away, saving my bacon sprung to mind, half way through I saw One gun stop shooting, asked what the picker ups thought had been shot, 35 or so they said, by this time another couple had stopped, I was fizzing mad & if I wasn'

Well the way I look at it is... People who are quick off the mark on inviting people who they don't know well onto there ground, are asking for it too happen IMO how ever wrong it is, if folk would just slow down and f*****g think for a second nearly all these incidents could have been avoided.. Iv never had anyone out who would do it & those I have had out I'd trust them to work the ground with out me if they asked, that's because there good friends and not just random acquaintances. It ain't rocket science fellas

He looks black underneath so it's probably mid rut, at which time they will square up to anything he sees as a threat to his herd of hinds..

Yep it's a sad sight, but just like a dog, if it mis judges a jump over a stock fence then chances are its going to end up hanging upside down.. But 2, within a few metres of each other, at the same time? I would love to of known the story behind it, shame as well as I used to love 'watching' the deer on my local estate. I'd guess at after the first one got hung up the other was in and about seeing what all the comosion was about, a few jumps from one side to the other and the same fate was sealed..possibly a doe and her yearling??

A lad I lived near used to take his kelpie lamping, it was rapid with a decent turn on it, but did hunt up badly when the lamp was switched off, one bonus was it was shit scared of sheep, lol -

Some places dogs are a must even those that are a wee bit unsteady but on the other hand there's places where dogs just ain't needed & can be more of a hindrance than a help..
