    Best time for blind checking is when it's cold & wet, they will still lie ontop if it's wet & warm or cold & dry, having said that iv had them when it's very warm & dry, lol..

    Mine did it on glass when he was 18 month, no work for nearly a year, he's tip top now, all be it with a slightly kicked forward foot from the wrist, neither heavy work or cold etc bother him.. Hope yours comes as good, I was on the verge of pts when it happened but glad I gave it/him a chance..

    That weight of lead is guessing it was shot like that every day of the week which we both know it wouldn't, one or two days being shot on the same field in a week & they will just graze else where, I do how ever agree that it's a waste of meat and does us no favours, but on the other hand to shoot such numbers in a flight there must have been 10000+ geese grazing on that particular field, the damage to say grass new or old is massive, I know the numbers of geese that frequent that area as I lived not so far from there for 10 or so years..     at a wild guess id say to shoot.............. there not the turkeys we eat at christmas tho, there wild turkeys like these.................. well the ones i seen were........... There the fellas, they fly ok if you have good ground to flush them off, if the grounds flat I wouldn't bother, takes a let's say sharper gun dog to get them to lift them trialing crap are no good, lol, it also gives the keeper a extra bit of cash at a £ 100 donation if shot & cull the rest for Xmas for the best free range turkeys you'll get..
