I have no idea but I will be checking back in a few days to see if you get some kind of explosion lol I'm going to start ours soon, I just realised I've got a fermenting bucket in the garage, I can't wait.

They take over Nuthatch nests and compete with them for food so probably affect their numbers. They should be wiped out like grey squirrels and all the other invasive species.

Thanks CH they're definitely a greater spotted woodpecker then. We need to fill our bird feeders and see if we can draw them in so I can take a fuzzy pic or two

Yes mate, I was told that they were pumping water from wells to irrigate some crop that uses a lot of water and that has caused them a lot of problems, they have desalination plants along the coast and they can use their oil to run them but that's no good for the interior of the country unless they pipe it miles across the desert. I don't know much about that side of things. They are also in some massive spat with Qatar Iran & Turkey which isn't going to help matters. It's one country I would love to see get a bit of 'arab spring' treatment lol

Just seen it again, this time I got a better look it is definitely a lesser/great spotted woodpecker. It appears to have a flightline through our garden, probably to next doors bird feeders, missed it with the camera again, I'll have to be quicker next time I think more likely a great since they are more common and I think it had some red at it's undertail coverts the fancy name (I just discovered from googling) for it's arse. That has seriously made my day

I've told the wife to stop taking the dog out with a lead on, she (the dog not the wife) isn't heal trained yet so it's just creating a problem, off lead she doesn't want to go far and the more fun she is having the closer she will be to heal. Not sure if that's the right way but it works for me, I reward every eye contact and anything else I want her to do with a squeaky ball or something high value, I don't give her the ball because she wants it so much, just a squeak and wave it about a bit, she gets very excited over that lol P.S I have learned from the last dog not to be a boring git

I have some good news, not the best but better than a kick in the teeth. The Saudi's are entirely reliant on oil to pay huge social benefits and subsidies to their population, they might be able to extract oil cheap but they need a lot more than $50 dollars a barrel to survive for more than a few years. The US fracking industry makes the USA the new swing producer. Saudi can't manipulate the oil prices in the way it could in the 70s, if they cut the US will crank up drilling faster than you can blink, if Saudi increases production the Shale producers can go bankrupt and wait in the wings f

I think she wont last long and is going to be ousted within a few months, it wouldn't be a good idea to take her out straight away so they might leave her in place for a few months or to the end of the year but I do not believe she will survive her full term. And good riddance, what were they thinking, dementia tax and hitting private pensions really p*ssed off a lot of her core support, then we have her ideas of clamping down on internet freedom and her terrible record as Home Secretary especially in the wake of the terror attacks.

I agree with you, this is not good for Brexit and tbh I don't think it's good for sorting out the economy either. UKIP have really screwed up, there was a golden opportunity in the North of England to eat in to the Labour strongholds and they blew it. So the Conservatives made gains in Scotland and losses in England?

Labour here....not that there is much difference between them I imagine. That's the life of living in a Labour stronghold, your vote is just a tiny little protest that no one ever notices, on the flipside you can vote for anyone you like without any worries either.

Unless the two tone runaway vehicle had run over him killing him .......
