I want to see how the polls compare to the results, I think the Tories will do far better than the polls suggested.

I doubt rapier or starstreak can take out a mortar or small rocket, they're not really designed for that. In a flat desert area with little ground clutter that Phalanx is ideal and a great way to test the system. It's amazing how accurate it is as well, I was always doubtful of the effectiveness of some of these wonder weapons after the first Gulf war when they found most Patriots missed their targets. Modern SAMs are highly effective but it gets me wondering why we still use such an old system like rapier, is that all we have protecting our country? I know they're planning to replace it w

Gulf States vs Qatar, Turkey and Iran?http://www.middleeasteye.net/columns/why-campaign-against-qatar-doomed-1663040860 Mate I am going to be studying this for days because I have been blindsided by it, I did know that Qatari support of the MB really pissed the Saudi's off and also that the Turks also were also supporting the MB but this possible alliance between Turkey Qatar (fine) and Iran (which probably means Iraq as well now) has been a big surprise to me, there doesn't seem to have been any indication that this was coming. What ever happens we aren't going to get involved th

Tommy Robinson How Is He Viewed In Britain At The Moment
Nik_B replied to stonewall's topic in General Talk
Problem was that they were seen/portrayed to be nasty skinheads and didn't put out a positive message. I recon they were infiltrated by the government to make them look bad plus there were enough idiots to help that along and of course the internet didn't exist then either. At the end of the day they were right and everyone else was wrong but the media is very powerful and can demolish groups like this very quickly, they pulled the same stunt on the BNP and then the same again with UKIP which didn't even have any racial arguments to make! People want to be liked, they don't want to be -

tecnoligy has come on leeps and bounds early days of ground /sea to air missiles were fly by wire operator with a joy stick ..lol theres some very special magic wands out there now The old MILAN system lol ....... When you think about it, that is a really clever idea I suppose it cannot be jammed/defeated (or can it?) where as optically tracked missiles can. The Germans were the first to use guided missiles in WW2 as far as I know, the Fritz-X and Henschel Hs 293 but we learned quickly how to jam their signals. That is pretty impressive technology for 75 years ago.

After watching that video my new petrol chipper is not going to half the fun I was hoping it would be anymore

See this is why I was asking what might seem odd questions a while back particularly about range of engagement, not because I am imagining what it is like but because I am trying to understand how things work and at what ranges etc, it's very hard (for a civilian) to imagine what an infantryman goes through because the videos (even the good ones) make it look like people are shooting at nothing and you can't see what they can see with their eyes. I have always been interested in how radar and surface to air missiles work for example, you really have to dig through the internet to understan

Thanks Socks Amazing technology, I have seen those videos from the Navy ships but I never in a million years though they had them covering our bases on land it just didn't occur to me that that radar would work very well in a desert as there is little ground clutter.
-
Are they directed by radar and do they work? You never read about these modern systems being used in books, same with electronic counter measures but I can see why that is. Those big guns are amazing, I could listen to them all day
-
I have to ask, have you ever heard an A-10 firing it's guns?

and the British version is better than the American one

That woman is a filthy skank you want to read the lyrics before letting your kids listen to it! I don't think it is appropriate for young girls to be subjected to phrases that describe sexual acts....google them or watch this

i was born raised and worked there the place is a shithole and has been for a good few years shame really My Gran was from the East End and my dad grew up there, I wonder what she would say if she was still alive. The last time I was in London I was walking to the LIbyan embassy to get my visa, walking past amazing buildings built hundreds of years ago when I happened upon a school party.....my jaw nearly hit the floor when I saw there was just a single white kid in the group of 25+ kids
