  2. Any idea how long a pheasant wing will last after cutting it off?
  3. I've had lessons on and off with a BASC coach and he organises a few shoot days but the last two seasons I couldn't book anything due to work, in between I've managed a fair bit of clay shooting and the odd day on pigeon or rabbit with a friend although never managed to hit much. This year I tried again for a driven day but again missed out because I left it a week too late so I was looking at another year of missed opportunities and only dreaming of what might have been Just when things were looking down my coach rang me and told me they'd had a cancellation and that while he wouldn't be av
  4. I have le chameaux 3mm neoprene and at the fireworks display my feet were freezing. Not too happy as I'm shooting on friday. Electric socks are appealing right now
  5. My labs first retrieve on partridge he had feathers stuck all round his nose lol. He didnt mind though. I used elastic bands and tucked the head under the wing to encourage him to carry the bird properly.

    Insurance

You've got to be kidding I don't doubt they aren't loaded but seriously they never have to worry where the next money is coming from, never have to worry about losing their home. They are having it pretty good plain and simple. I spend ever day of my life worried sick about money and the future and it will probably drive me in to an early grave.

    shaving

Hate shaving, I use a mach 3 razor ones every week to 10 days depending on how much complaining my wife and daughter do, also cuts down on bills and I will use one blade a good few times before binning it.
  8. Fine looking lab mate. Prepare for mentalness when he gets to around 11 months Don't worry it only lasts for 2 years
  9. You might have to keep the collar on him for quit a long time after conditioning him because they do figure out when they are not wearing it.

  13. My experience many times has been that they think they own the countryside and aren't so understanding about other peoples activities.
  14. Ha ha I was was simply walking...they were rambling
  15. Probably because I live near Manchester and all the ramblers are basically townies in funny outfits...they just seem really weird to me. I don't care about what they are doing but I get stared at all the time when training the dog. My mum and dad used to go out with a small rambling club and I joined them once. They were telling a story to their horrified friends about how they went out on a 'recce' and had climbed over a gate to find a couple of blokes with guns in all camo gear etc. I tried to explain that they were probably just controlling vermin on the farmers land...in fact the rambl
  16. Does anyone else not like them? Big bloody mobs of them carrying walking poles and seem to always give you funny looks for what ever country activity that you are doing (unless also rambling and wearing red socks). They seem to hate cyclists, horse riders, fishermen and more than anything shooters, hunters and never seem to have dogs with them which makes me very suspicious!
  17. Well they're good but not magic
