  1. I'm in a bit of a quandry My mother in law had my daughter for a day and while she was there her granny dressed three of the birds I'd given her. She then gave my 6 year old daughter some of the feathers to play with. Typical of my daughter she has decided that she wants to take the feathers in to school for show and tell. I don't know the teacher but am a bit worried about the reaction she might get although I doubt the kids will have an issue with it. In my mind I can imagine some left wing freak stopping her half way through as soon as she says the word 'shot'! What do you reco
  2. Is that including donations? Brilliant news and well done to those that set this up.
  3. I'd say cold just means dead rather than actually cold and it's just the practicality I would imagine. If you could get freshly shot birds it would be just as good or better but how easy could you get a freshly shot bird twice a week just before a training session? Also I reused some of the birds I got.
  4. Fook me he'd win a landslide victory if he called an early election and promised a referendum!!
  5. How about this? It's a bit further than you want. http://www.gunsonpeg...1&eventId=15722 Edited to say they seem to get a bit cheaper as you get further away from Cheshire, it might not cost much more to stay over in a B&B. Seen a small mini driven on anglesey as well that is supposed to be ok.
  6. Have you looked on gunsonpegs? There should be something like that going.
  7. Took me a minute to figure out what u were talking about
  8. he's another journalist or writer. She's loaded and he was pretty much a kept man by the sounds of it. She rumbled him shagging around and they split up lol She's a very strange self loathing person (anorexic and a vegan/vegetarian) who seems to want people to hate her so she can write about it. Apparently her ex said he did all the cooking in their marriage, as she had been anorexic for 20 years what would she know about food LOL
  9. Brilliant. I've not bidded on the auctions but donated this morning now I've fixed my paypal account. Well done
  10. More Labradors and I'd love to have a Springer one day.
  11. Brill I've only ever seen one in my entire life...guess I need to pay more attention! What are they like to eat?
  12. Malt I reckon when you see a story like that pop up in the news papers they've been deliberately released to gauge public opinion and set the ball rolling for new policies to come...take the story of prisoners voting rights for example..stir up public feelings and then make a big deal by going against Europe and refusing to budge on the matter. That way the politicians can show the problem to the public and drum up support for their party by showing they've fixed it. I'll bet anything that in the next year something is done to stop the next surge in immigration from happening. And yes
  13. Cheers BH I'm not sure, if I had a regular job I would definitely join a syndicate but I can only book 2 or 3 days off over winter so I'm not sure it would be worth it, I imagine a syndicate would want to know well in advance which days you can and cant make. I think for now I will just book my 2 or 3 shoot days like that one (expensive yes!) and then try and squeeze in more by looking for last minute stuff on gunsonpegs etc. It's at times like this I hate my job but that's life and it could be much worse, at least I can afford to get out shooting even if it isn't that often. Also I probab
  14. "My Thumb went in front of the barrel and it went off!!!!" Erm more like... "Stupidly I put my thumb in front of the barrel and I pulled the trigger" Nothing like taking responsibility for your own actions lol
  15. enough said one word brilliant. I've had the leather lined ones and now have the neoprene. They're really good wellies no doubt and well made but the leather ones weren't warm enough when it was really cold even with loads of socks on. The second pair were the 3mm neoprene ones, good enough in autumn but I find they can get way too warm if it is mild and my feet are sweating like fook but again when it's really cold the 3mm isn't enough in my opinion. The insulation needs to be good round your feet and toes not your calves. I would still rate them though but it's a lot of money for somet
  16. She banned her gardener from using a strimmer ha ha...just shows what kind of idiot she was. She had 50 acres so you can imagine her garden was probably pretty huge as well and the poor old boy is expected to do the borders with what exactly...scissors?? I laughed my arse off reading that article it reads like a parody of the typical rich city person moving to the country...shame for her it was serious.
  17. Ha ha that was hilarious to read, what a total clown. She most likely cut her self off from the community by prancing around like lady muck, shouting at her gardener or being rude to the locals. I don't believe for a minute people from the city can't move to the country providing they try and fit in and are polite. I lived in Cornwall for a year and never had a problem even though a lot of them weren't keen on people from 'up country'. In the end you can't be an arrogant prat and get away with it.
  18. Is the bottom one a woodcock? Nice pic mate and love your dog
  19. I've had it a year and 7 months. Not very long really and it's not seen much shooting. Never been in the rain until last friday, I'd never really oiled the wood though until wednesday last week but that crack was there just before just smaller.
  20. Yeh I'd love to know! I've used it mainly for clay shooting and haven't fired more than about 2500 cartridges through it. Would not oiling the wood cause it? Or maybe my cabinet is in a bad place?
  21. I've had no luck with this shotgun. I've had problems with the safety/action and the other day it was ejecting both spent and unfired cartridges after only firing one shot and now I get home to find a 3 inch long crack down the side of the forend Should I take it to a gunsmith and ask him to repair it or just try and get a replacement part? It is grade 5 wood so I'm not sure I would want to try and repair it myself. I am so p**sed off about this gun...I'd have got rid but I shoot well with it. Cheers Nick
