I heard about that on the news earlier. I know Jeff the fella who that is,he was very lucky someone saw him when they did and he had all the right safety gear but a freak accident happened and it went very wrong very quickly for him and he knows how lucky to still be here he is. I used to work offshore in the North Sea. I kid you not they banned knifes on the rig, the HSE guy came round to each department and tool away all knifes and sharp pointy things. If you needed a knife you would have to go to the radio room and sign out a cutting tool. Anotehr occasion a guy was spotted cutting a bread bun with a bread knife and as you do he was cutting towards himself (its just a bread knife!) unfortunately he was spotted by the rig supervisor who went ballistic, next thing we heard was a tannoy saying that if this ever happened again he would confiscate all the knives -
Also what does my nut in is that our gardens are full of free food. If you took a few woodies and squirrels you could be eating for next to nothing

I find supermarkets a rip off. Sure the value stuff is cheap but only because your average butcher or grocer couldn't get away with selling that stuff. We buy our veg from the grocer, meat from the butcher but we eat less and try to waste nothing. I like to make a stock from a ham shank or chicken and make soup which can provide loads of lunch time meals for nothing. We avoid buying anything from a packet as well

I could feed a family for 70 quid a week, if you ask me to do it for a day then it is a little harder because you can't buy in bulk but then real life people surely don't work their budget out per day. Most people seem to be ignorant about cooking food and feeding a family

Was it on the BBC by any chance? They are probably having a dig at the government about the cuts to welfare. you can easily feed a family of 4 on a tenner but these days it's not concidered the done thing to tell people on lower incomes that they could be more efficient with their money

I don't think it's just combat stress that is causing this. I think the fact that these young guys go from having a fulfilling purpose in life to being chucked on to the streets, going from alpha male status to zero in ten seconds is just as much the problem. -
Problem with this country is you don't get to acclimatise with the hot weather. If you head off to the dessert then you are in it all day every day and start to get used to it.
