Au contraire my little friend. I was fair handy with one in the woodshop once upon a time - and that's the truth! Mind yourself now or I'll give you a demonstration lol I need a new top for my workbench. If I send you the dimensions, you could prove your skills. Now you're th
  5. As long as you have a strong stomach Ruby My dad took me on a sea fishing trip a few times years ago. One time off the coast of Devon the sea was pretty rough and one person started puking up, then the next and the next...it was contagious. Good fun reeling those Mackerel in though

Can my Labrador join in? It's not fat honest
  7. For me it's less about giving anyone a chance, I genuinely fear for my kids future if we carry on any longer. There's already a million kids unemployed in the UK granted they might be useless but so what...most young kids are useless but it's good to have a shortage in the Labour market. They get forced in to working and the employers get forced into employing them, everyone wins and unemployment amongst the young could be completely stamped out. Under Labour they were better of to be on the dole and given no incentive to get out there and work, I'm 40 and when I was a kid you took badly paid
  8. Bang out of order... Driving license is 50 quid so whats the difference. They need to become more efficient and stop taking it out on the tax payer.
  9. Wilf its either policy or its not..............if a party makes such a strong stand as to FORBID membership of people from former extremist organisations.....but then allows somebody from a former extremist organisation to not only be a member but to actually stand as a candidate ......makes their policy not worth the paper its written on.....and naturally throws into question any other strong policies they might have as possibly being treated with the same contempt that one can be.Now im no politician and your right blokes like us dont really understand enough about the whole workings of pol
  10. Guess that as the water in the beer turned to ice it expands forcing some of the beer out.
  11. Last night I was having a few beers and had put three of them in the freezer to get them cold quicker. Went down stairs for a smoke and whilst in the kitchen remembered they were in the freezer so took them out, tipping them on their sides I could tell that they weren't frozen but very cold. I congratulated myself over getting there in the nick of time and decided to open one, there was a tiny trace of ice but nothing serious so I left it on the side and went out for my fag. When I came back in the whole thing had iced up and beer had spilled out of the top of the bottle on to the worktops. T
  12. Tie a dead swan round the neck of each one of them
  13. its funny how you take things for granted, are they rare where you are? I could look out the window for a few minutes and almost guarantee seeing at least one shaking its tail about the place! Never seen a yellow wagtail though! I've never seen a pied wagtail anywhere near my house although I think I saw a yellow wagtail at a local park and nearly fell over in shock
  14. It's not as exciting as some of the birds mentioned but I saw a Pied Wagtail when we were in Pwllheli which was nice to see, it was just wandering round in the road. Also when we went Kayaking there was a small flock (20 or so birds) flitting round over the sea, they were fairly small with light brown back and pale underside, we weren't close enough to see them properly so no idea what they were. Peregrines have made quite a comeback, apparently there are some in Manchester city centre.
  15. If they put a proper motorway in you'd have commuters moving even further west into North Wales
  16. The BNP is imploding, if thousands of ex members of the BNP suddenly joined UKIP it would be the death of UKIP. They'd be portrayed as the next big right wing only party. I think UKIP's got a lot more ideas that should appeal to people from most walks of life and not just the far right so I think what they're doing is sensible. Anyone can vote UKIP including BNP voters etc but they cannot actually join the party.
  17. Tried the rings but they are so damn fiddly I ended up dropping most of them in the grass....I'm too lazy to make up tapered leaders at home before I go out. generally I just use the same strength line with a single dropper on top of the point fly. No doubt a tapered leader helps presentation especially with a dry fly but I still catch fish my lazy way.
  18. Anyone else been there? What a cracking fishery. Small but lovely and very deep spring fed reservoir in North Wales with amazing views. Went down with my dad and a couple of his friends today, the sun was very bright so the fish were very deep. Luckily I managed to find the right depth early on using a fast sinker and 10-14 seconds sinking time with a Dawsons Olive type lure (which I like to use when I'm not confident of else to use). After 30 minutes testing the depths I took several takes and hooked but lost 3 fish in a row which was starting to get annoying. After a bit more perseve
