  1. i've seen a couple of them about now... do they still have the same 4wd, low/high and rear diff like the shogun??
  2. the new complete lurcher by plummer is a good book!! lots of coverage about various crosses about entering to quarry etc!!! and merle is a crackin read too
  3. my first lurcher was a 14 month old collie/greyhound x whippet/greyhound... very nice lurcher bitch, very biddable and had a great nose for day time work... i think if your goin for a 1st lurcher then something with obedience would be a good idea like a collie/greyhound.... terrier crosses are what i use but they can test your patience, the beddy/greyhound i have at the minute was damn near impossible to train to retrieve but she did eventually get there! somebody mentioned a deerhound/greyhound earlier there but they are usually slow to mature and you may have to wait a while before they are
  4. would anyone have that on dvd?? or know a way of gettin it on to dvd from youtube??
  5. seen this when i was about 12 and i've been lookin for it since!!! would anyone have it on dvd?? i hd a wanted ad up here a couple of years back but no one had heard of it!! here it is even my mum watched it lol
  6. yea yours... i noticed he had a kinda heavy head on him!!
  7. lovely animal mate, is there a touch of bull in him??
  8. i have alot of lamps and my favourite is the blaserlite for all lurcher work!! the lightforce have a far better beam but i wouldnt leave home without the blaserlite and the flip up filter... the secondary bulb is a class invention too
  9. i have a 240 as well.... to be honest i never use it all that much because i dont like carrying it... i have a handheld tracer (wrist breaker), shootalite, blaserlite, laserlite, 170 and 2x 800 lumens lamps that i got for the rifles!! the lumens (i cant remember theyre make?) are an excellent bit of technology for a short walk on the lamp.... anywhoo, out of them all i cant go past my old blaserlite, i have it kitted out with a hinged filter and i really like it! i also like the way you can push it into the bracket on the battery pack so it leaves your hands free and the wee workilght on it is
  10. i probably shouldnt speak because i dont have any experience with dogs that have got the chop but i would imagine that if it was done when the dog was matured it wouldnt make much difference!! i think if he was clipped as a pup for whatever reason then it might have more of an impact on the way he matures!! take a look at young bullocks, they never mature past the size of a cow and are every bit as timid when they get the chop..... just a thought!!
  11. from what i've seen on the numerous golly threads on hunting sites, he throws pups all yellow in colour and the spit of himself... i seen a pup from him to a full greyhound that was just a racier version of golly!!! i wouldnt mind a pup bred out of a greyhound to golly, i'm not talkin from experience but i guess golly mite be short of a gear for what i do?? (lampin)
  12. i remember that fella, i'll do a search and see what pops up... if i recall it was a white pup he kept back, it was about 19tts and looked a smart little thing!!!
  13. i'd be out if i wasnt workin... makes goin to work even harder knowing i'll be missin out!!!
  14. used to see that every year but this season i'm lucky if i see one in a night.... any foxes i did see were runnin before the beam hit them .... i blame the rifle men, theyre handin out permits for .22's like theyre handin out sweets!!!!
  15. i'm the other side of magherafelt, theres a good few hound men about here, i'll pass the word to them and see if they'v been offered anything for sale!! pics would help
  16. the inbetweeners..... those foul mouthed goofy wee b*****ds crack me up!!!! "fffffriend"
  17. experience in beddys is near zero but i run both crosses now.... the beddy is a 1st cross and my wheaten is a 3/4grey cross!!! they will both be getting a good 1st test this season because with the floods last season it was a disaster.... but anywho, to be honest unless the wheaten wakens up a bit i think the beddy is a winner so far regards prey drive!!!! 1st cross wheatens are usually alot harder but also heavier built and less racey!! and i think when you cross them back to a greyhound you lose that wee bit of somethin special that wheatens bring to the table!!! somebody else on here had th
  18. always had a lot of time for deerhounds and deerhound crosses.... i had a deerhound/grey x collie/grey and i loved lamping with him... i found him a bit too big for the fields i lamped but he when he got into his stride he was nice to watch!!! killed foxes quicker than any gun!! lookin forward to seeing updates on these
  19. keep us updated georgia, i think with time you wont have scars and besides with those looks a few possible scars will hardly matter...

  21. my ex used to enjoy comin out with the dogs but she wasnt really a fan of watchin them catch stuff!!
  22. i had 2 dogs that were excellent on foxes... alsationxgreyhound and a whippetxgreyhound bitch... the wee whippet cross bitch used to shake with fury when she seen them trottin up the beam!!
