  1. Firstly, welcome to THL secondly, as you say you are a beginner am I in the understanding this is to be your first rifle?? if it is then the question would be what's you budget.... The easiest way to do it is decide on your budget then visit your local gun shop and see what they have, try them out both spring and pcp, get the feel for the rifle you think suits you best then decide what calibre you want it in. Once you've done that and decided on your rifle & scopes get yourself down to a local club/range and practice some paper punching(target shooting) try and achieve a 5-10
  2. Nice one mate... Isn't it great when permissions come to you!! Look forward to your reports mate Darryl
  3. Nice groupings mate At least you are going the right way about shooting... Learning your groupings etc is your range an indoor or outdoor?? If it's indoor it might pay you to zero your rifle indoors and try and get outside and measure the same distance and try again and make a note of the conditions, wind etc and see what difference it makes to your shooting. Plenty practice in all types of conditions will make you better again Darryl
  4. Don't give up ya day job mate!! Not a bad shot mate. Were you actually aiming there or were you aiming for the sweet spot and the pellet drifted??
  5. NIce going lads....some decent size ones there too!! Darryl
  6. If only you were closer mate....a lot closer.... lol I'm sure you'll find someone on here local who'll team with you mate!! atb in finding someone and welcome to THL Darryl

  8. Tasco's arrived today..... Fitted straight on the rifle and went out to my usual ground to zero with Festa in tow...... Full story here:- http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...howtopic=123743 But to say theyre "spot on" is an understatement! Darryl
  9. My new scopes arrived today..... Tasco 6-24 x 50 AOEG Fitted straight on the rifle and went out to my usual ground to zero with Festa in tow...... On stepping into the field the usual bunnies weren't out...(too early for them!) so we made our way down to the second part of the pasture of which Festa has his rifle cocked and ready as mine wasnt yet zeroed. He led the way and the hand was soon up for me to stop.....on looking there were 3 sitting right in the middle of the ground, adopting the kneeling position and scoping up he indicated they were at about 25 metres so...half a mi
  10. Why the change Chris?? Aren't the Tascos any good?? Darryl
  11. I hope to get down soon too, but will have to see what work has in store first. If it's local work I'm laughing! Hopefully my new scopes will have arrived too, call me for jumping on the bandwagon but I ordered myself a set of those Tasco 6-24 x 50 that you are all using, so once I'm happy with them my 3-9 x 50 Richter Optiks will be for sale. Later lads Darryl

  13. Nowt but right mate....in my eyes a parent has the right to do ANYTHING to protect their kin It's one of them things that nark me about the law and this country, if they wanna take the chance to break it then they need to learn to accept the consequences when they get caught, no matter how severe they may be! Darryl
  14. GReat end to the day lads...well done! Darryl

  19. As Zini has said mate, the R10 looks a cracking rifle....I've never shot one myself but going off Zini's record they can't be half bad! I've got a Superten, and as yet have had no problems with it, pellet on pellet at 30m and apparently as long as you keep the mags lubed they're fine All depends on your budget really mate! Darryl
