    Finally got round to upgrading the hutch to a 2 tier. It was the initial plan to build it before I got them, but me being impatient wanted the ferrets it's 4.5ft across by 2.5ft deep and stands just over 4.5ft I'm also thinking of giving them the full run of the shed when I find somewhere to put all the junk Here we are anyway Darryl

    I used to use the old "Line ferret" when my old jill used to lay up...... Just to explain in case anyone doesnt know, as far as I know most people used the female ferret to do the work, but in the case of a "lie up" a collar was fitted to a male ferret along with a section of string and he was put down the hole to chase/locate the female No fear of that nowadays!     Given the chance I'd opt for a ghillie every time....... But that could be cos I find Real tree very "Americanised" or having used one in my miltary background and know the tried and tested method works.. But yet again...each to their own! Darryl

    I don't know if you have ferrets mate but my plan of action is to ask for permission for ferreting instead of shooting then if granted get to know the "client" let them see you are trustworthy then bring it up in conversation on one of your visits. I'm yet to put it into practice but it can't hurt, just means a bit of a longer wait than asking straight out to use a gun good luck all the same Darryl

    Not really mate.... Just my jills wont eat off the bone.... I've tried twice with 2 fresh rabbits, left them in for 2 days but had to take them out as the meat was untouched Puzzling!! DArryl I have a jill who's just the same, she would rather die than eat meat, give her dry and she's happy as a pig Cant understand it though mate..... I got them off Festa who fed them rabbit, now I'm feeding them on petshop mince, but they will eat rabbit if I chop it up for them. Got me stumped Darryl
