  1. What stealthy said mate....hope it holds off for you Darryl
  2. Hi Scott In answer to your first question..... Yes you can still ferret in the rain mate but it isn't going to be much fun for you standing there waiting whilst your ferret is dry underground doing the biz. In answer to the second part, I take it since you're new to ferreting and only have 10 nets so far you wont have a locator yet, my advice is to get one mate. If your ferret backs one up in a stopend you wont have any way of finding it and it could be down there a very long time. When me and wor kid are out and the ferret has been down about 5-10 mins and there are no signs of nois
  3. some good advice there mate, Good luck on Sunday...MAke sure you take a camera and get some pics too Darryl
  4. Good choice mate....I love my S10, the mag system is fine as long as you keep it lubed (small amount of 3in1 oil before and after each shoot ) Good luck with it tonight, I'm sure you wont be disappointed Darryl
  5. Hi Just for the record if you find the right one you can purchase off the internet and have it delivered to your "local overpriced gunshop" for a small receiving fee. Darryl

  9. Good on ya for the apology jack. It takes a better man to lay an apology than to respond with an argumentative reply. Nice one!! Darryl
  10. As I said before mate it is when you first start but not too bad when you get the hang of it DArryl
  11. Honestly when I first started I'd say a 9-10, Now that I'm sort of getting the hang of it, 6-7 although I still sometimes make mistakes doing the rings and find myself going back on myself, but as with everything mate I'm sure it will come with experience Darryl
  12. I know I'm just learning mate, I'm on to my 3rd net now and the way I found was not to pull the mesh board but pull the twine instead. If you pull the mesh board it tends to slacken the twine on the rings Hope this helps Darryl
  13. cheers for the replies guys/gal certainly takes some getting used to, but I'm sure I'll get there Darryl
  14. After putting it off for a while and buying off other people as I thought it would be "easier" I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy a net making kit. It's one of the Deben ones found on ebay that I managed to nab for a tenner! I thought f**k it....if I cant do it then it's just a tenner. Well what do you know....I managed to make one! I copied off one of my existing hemp nets it being 7 meshes across by 18 deep. The big test and sense of achievement will come when I actually "net" something in it. It might be a daft question to those in the know but if I wanted to make a bi
  15. We're both using the Deben 7Ah batteries mate, fully charged last night. We had them off an on for an hour and a half mate and showed no signs of dying but yet to test them on a full nights shoot Darryl
  16. Take it from me mate, it's not.....makes the digging a little easier though ;) Darryl
  17. Howdo guys.... well, after wor kid complaining about doing the write up "again" last week, I feel I have to put my 2p worth in so I fear it's my turn! After one of use having a successful lamping hour today (writeup here:- http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=130808 ) we continued our day with our usual ferreting session. We headed back into the field where we were lamping as I had seen around 8 bunnies dive for cover to the same bury. It's a bury we had only done last week and wouldn't normally have done it, however seeing what went in could only be a good thing ...r
  18. She's a Border/Beagle cross mate, wor kid got her off a lad on here Darryl
  19. Myself and Festa have been clearing part of our new permission for the last few weeks now and just when we thought they were going thin on the ground and we were making headway we didn't half get a shock last night!! We got to where we wanted to be at around 5am and man, was it cold! After setting up the rifles we went our separate ways. It was my first time out with my new Deben Tracer lamp and I have to say they are well worth the money! Anyway in all my honesty I've seen nothing like it, there were bunnies everywhere, but they weren't drifting very far from the warrens, as soon as the

In my opinion a PUBLIC forum is as it is designed for....the PUBLIC People can post what they want when they want.
