  1. just thought id say i wouldnt use chicken wire, as iv had a dog chew threw it, and if a dog can im sure a fox could. id use galvanised weldmesh, thicker the better, especially if its in a field and not near your property.
  2. thought you were only using broodies, yet your selling your wyandotte bantams and a broody o shamo??????
  3. comb is paler, eye isnt as alert and wide and bright as the rest, eye seems a bit sunken and not as perky if you get what i mean, id give her some garlic or apple cider vinegar to perk her up a little

  6. open your eyes mate, try birmingham, leeds, bradford, london. go to a fuel station in a town,a corner shop, taxi companys etc etc. what are you saying?
  7. never used dry food, meat more natural and cheaper (free) in my eyes, don't think its needed as if with careful planning you can freeze portion big or small enough that you can defrost everyday. never used soya don't think its needed, don't have it in the wild, mine had meat from day one and i have a jill people mistake for a hob, so it wont stop their growth by not giving it to them. good luck.
  8. as much rabbit and chicken as they can eat i what i fed, they loved a fresh carcass to tear into, no need to feed several times a day like a puppy i dont feel, just make sure the food isnt going rank so dont give to much

  16. what grit is it? oystershell will help with the shells whereas conventional "hard" grit will just aid digestion and be retained in the gizzard for grinding, and break down of the feed, whereas the calcium in the oystershell is digested and helps the shells. if i ever get soft shells a few handfuls of oystershell always does the trick for me.
  17. late hatch in july/august under broody, so id say a 12 months begining of august.

  20. i dont want to be seen as making excuses for him Wombat, as i can see your point and you are right, but to me he is a good bird, i dont want to be seen as not taking constructive criticism, as everyone has an opinion
  21. Crossbreed or not he is a gamebird and should give the impression he can do a task, from the picture he looks a little short in the leg which makes him top heavy. fair do's Tuzo, im not saying anyone is wrong, but i can see what your saying. i like him though
  22. what i mean is yes, i can see looking back that he does look a bit short in the shank, but as a crossbreed i dont really mind. but if he was a purebreed i would think there was definetly, and i certainly wouldnt class him as an asil, as his grandad was a brazilian, which to me are breeds lumped together, and come in all shapes and sizes and arnt bred to a standard like some asil are, even by cockers. so anything that is in the brazilian has come out in this bird, i think shamo by his height and asil by his comb
