  1. Starting this topic due to a pm. How many foxes that you catch in snares are dead. Snares are not designed to kill they are designed to hold.
  2. i take it you dont do much snaring if you think the fox will be dead
  3. if its not on his ticket then the shop shouldnt sell them in the firs place
  4. does it matter if the bullet goes through, how many times do you shoot rabbits with the .22 and the bullet stays in the rabbit. if your shooting at a fox then you have found a safe shot to shoot, backstop should be behind all shots?
  5. and the vet said they are all poisonous, but OUR dog food that we sell is fine, its £20 a kilo and your dogs will love it,
  6. i cant see why they would ask for a mentor when you already have an fac, cambs police aint that bad, when i applied for my .22 i had a 25 acre pig farm with a footpath running through it and houses on 2 sides,
  7. i have howa 1500 and i cant fault it, good weight accurate enough for what i do
  8. winchester ammo? i get an occasional one in my anchutz, could be just a faulty primer or weak spring in the bolt, mine dont do it enough for me to worry about messing about with the bolt
  9. it has been removed from use
  10. had it on a golf course with crows, i took them out with 22 early morning,
  11. just leave the mole hills near your traps, then you know where your traps will be

Been taking my eldest since he was 2. Went duck shooting and deer stalking other day, he loves setting the mole and rabbit traps, snares. He's only 6 now and asked for a 410 for his birthday next month.
  13. Are they chasing anything, lot of cranefly about now. Or it could be them just playing.
  14. This year has been strange, all seasons messed up. Saw some ducklings few days old last December. When I go rough shooting I will be very choosy,
  15. have you got the pens IN the cover crop or on the outside? we used to put them in the cover in a pen then after 4 days open the pen and they were free then, sometimes leaving 3-4 as callers, get your beaters in place and without showing them selves so when the birds do get up they are there ready to turn them over the guns
  16. now harvest is well under way i have been seeing alot of poults about, but they have been very young, saw a brood of french yesterday and they couldnt have been 5 weeks old, and a small brood of pheasants that were even younger is it the same every where?

  19. there is a spray called bite back, dog wardens use it if a dog is coming to them, spray in the face and it's meant to put them off cause the smell gets in the nose and they dont like it, i always had one when i was dog warden but never got to use it
  20. have a look here, not too far from you http://www.elywildfowlers.org.uk/
  21. just having the box there will be enough for the squizzers to investigate with out the need for the feeder, why not use the walnuts as bait if that is what they are eating
