  1. I would quite happily out trap you and your 'pop' gun probuk. Rabbits ain't fussed about walking on wire in the slightest. Find out where they are feeding at night. No point setting cages at 10-15 yards if they are feeding at 100. They will go in the cages first night but I tend to leave mine upside down over the weekend an start trapping on Monday. Couple of strips of carrot at the back and tiny piece at the front of cage. When foxes and badgers find the cages don't worry about killing the rabbits in the morning they are normally gone. The cages with spring doors might prevent this but pain

    Hog Ringers

they are ok i have a set, they do the job,
  3. when i used to use talpex i never filled them back in, just put in the run the put cut out sod back on top, job done,
  4. I moved house and sent my fac for change of address, they never came out. Just see them every 5 years that's it. Brought another cabinet yesterday, won't bother telling them. As has been said security is up to the holder not them. There is no law saying you need a cabinet. But they won't give you your ticket without one
  5. i thought that but on steve's web site it says ratbait on there aswell
  6. i stuck one out this morning he has been taking rabbits out my traps, pretty sure he will be in there soon as he is used to taking them from cages
  7. Get some saddles to put on the hens, stops all the scratching when they are treading
  8. clays slow down birds dont they speed up after first shot, try not to think about what your doing, just do it, i find that if i am snap shooting i hit alot more than if i see the bird coming, too much time to think about what your going to do
  9. Dont be so sure of yourself there fella, a rat can and will climb just as well as a squirrel. Even copper pipe and tubular steel Yeh, but if it's placed away from the tree trunk hanging freely, on a thin enough chain, it's not going to be able to climb the tree, across the branch and down the chain, and dependant on your feeder, even if it does, it still won't be able to sit there to feed, it would just fall off if you have bell shaped feeders. a rat would quite easily sit on top of feeder and eat the food, a tree branch and chain and going to stop it
  10. Well mate funny you should ask, cause im CERTAINLY not one of the fastest molecatchers, but it doesnt bother me.I have never rushed setting a mole trap, and im comfortable with it. Then again, im not trying to set 2 or 3 traps, per mole. LOL i dont either 1 per mole on agri land or private gardens with a good travel distance i will put 2 or 3 per mole
  11. How long does it take U to set a trap then. I know im the younger than most mole trappers by the time your kneeling down its time to get back up again

    Car Derived Vans

cheers for replies, just still a grey area for some, as it says lgv on my tax disc, the copper that pulled my mates brother over said if a tax disc has that on then its not car derived van
  13. Right was having a debate today with a mate about car derived vans. his brother just got a speeding ticket for doing 60 in his vivaro van, i know his isnt a car derived so he took the fine. but i have a kangoo van and my mate has a berlingo van, he is saying that we cant do the same speed as cars, but i was saying that because we both have vans that there is a car version of, we are fine to do the same speed as cars. who is right, me or him?
  14. I killed a young rabbit with a carrot. I was walking to set cages and I see him sitting tight and only had carrot to hand. Good size carrot at about 8 yards in the noggin
  15. my eldest when he was 3 was at the fair, and he was about to go down them big inflatable slides, at the top was a boy alot older than him maybe 6 or 7, as other kids were about to go down the older kid was pushing them down, my ol boy was getting ready and the older kid grabbed him trying to push him down, but he wasnt having that, my boy kicked his feet from under him sat on his gut and was pounding him in the face, alright he was only 3 but every one was on target, he soon came down the slide after that and went running to his daddy, bullies always get put down in the end
  16. As you have seen logun i do a fair bit with the rabbit cages, most of them are right on the foor paths with the rabbits crossing over the paths to get to the wheat fields, there is no way i could use kill traps along the foot paths
  17. what i mean is, if someone had some hanging in a shed they could still get done, people have gin traps hanging in their sheds but dont use them, why should someone get 'trained' for having snares in the shed.
  18. so even if they have them they can still get done. say if some one had 50 rabbit fence snares but not in the loop form could they still get done for owning them
  19. catch doubles throughout the year, had 3 doubles from the same trap in 4 days on a surface run in november
  20. Still a little early yet. Still seeing them in groups so not pairing yet
  21. take the leads off the battery and use a normal car charger
  22. just in time for breeding season, let them cause aload of agro they will soon have you back in
