  6. mine woke me up this morning with the typical "mustelid lurrrve" noise!!!! at half four. i'll be glad when the hob goes home lol
  7. well the birds areno longer feeding proper ( took six hours for them to have a nibble on the quail i put in today) gave them a good clean out today and sprayed the feet with warm water as they were looking a bit grubby ( i dont like seeing food etc on the talon bed, i feel its inviting an infection). the female is pushing a broken talon very well indeed, its come to a nice point and curving down nicely. the wee male is is pin already which i am also pleased about! ( one tail feather as far as i could tell). how are you lads/lassies getting on?

  14. i was brought into hunting by my father in law (rip) who was a very traditional hunting man ( "waidmann" hence my name on here!!!!!!!) i went with him a few times( around three years! every weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and enjoyed the whole thing, from staying inour hunting lodge in the teutoberger wald to the drink when a stalk was done to the blowing of a hunting horn for a dead creature, the preparing of trophies, the butchering of quarry, the food it provides and the craig within all of this. i then went to uni for around nine months i think ( which cost me alotof money!) to attain my ge
  15. top looking blade there bud i like the shape too (well formed for use and not just looks!). 70 quid is a steal.
  16. You are right, legally any caught vermin should be culled. But if any sad f****r wants to try and prosecute me for not killing a caught magpie based on this, then that is fine with me. Who hasn’t seen a wildlife programme on TV where they aren’t releasing foxes, grey squirrels and other pests? I don’t feel obligated to follow laws that are daft. Just because they are vermin there is no law saying you have to kill them, except grey squirrel and mink. all others can be legally released with the land owners consent rabbits, rats, foxes etc should not be released by law mate
  17. my next door neighbor had a jackdor he called him jacob ( he could say his nameand a few " choice" words) he stayed for two years ( roosted on his window sill!!!!) then buggered off...............................................onlyto come back the next spring! after that year he was gone i'm afraid. a magpie would be a very good idea! mating season...... take your bird to any hedgerow and wait untill the resident birds come along........................ not sure its legal though!!!! waidmannsheil!!
  18. not belittling the workthat can go into a handle mate just pointing out that these knives can be ready to use quite simply and cheaply, if you are not bothered about the looks ( i quite like a nice cord wrapped blade tbf). you can always get a "proper handle" at a later date.
  19. i will have number two please mate, i will send the money as soon as you confirm its available. thanks, mike. waidmannsheil!!
  20. i have three of these blades and can only say they are top, i will post a pic of the wee damascus when i get a handle on it the blanks are great as "every day" knives, sharpen like feck, hold the edge and if you don't want to spend too much time on getting them ready then just wrap them with para cord or leather thonging! waidmannheil!!
