  1. must have hit the wrong button lol
  2. anything goes as long as you do it yourself ( paulus!!!) how will they be marked? 1-20 in five categories ( giving an easy points system lol) i would suggest the following categories. 1, metal finish 2,handle finish 3, choice of materials 4,functionality 5,aesthetic ( done by a poll on here of all knives) how many people would be up for the craic? so matt knows how many blanks to make.
  3. 97 views and twelve replies???
  4. i dint win the second auction so i will be on to rob sooner than i thought cheers
  5. iknow it was discussed the other day. if for example only "donators" can post for sale and anyone can post wanted ads then it can only increase revenue for the site, tidy up the craft and diy section and make it easier for people looking for a certain product/tool. wheres a mod when you need one lol
  6. bugger, i have just ordered some maple and ash ones off ebay!! i will be in touch when i need some more matey i have started a poll in general talk section please add you votes and thoughts lads!
  7. as was recently posted on another section would it not be a good idea to have seperate "craft and diy sales section"? where people can post their work for sale/swap? i am thinking of the lads who spend alot of time and effort posting "how to do" and " work in progress" threads inspiring alot of us to pull our fingers out and try some of the stuff ourselves. i will set up a poll for anyone who feels this is a good step forward for the site ( i feel it would be). cheers, mike. waidmannsheil!!
  8. CHEAT!!!!! you will be only paying half the dosh next i have just bought some knife scales and two blanks ( those mini helmandos) to have a practice on lol that bsa stock has come good paul, pinned, glued, filled and "black ratted" (sprayed gloss black). will need a bit of sanding and then another couple of layers which will make it look quite nice i think ( i will end up having the metal work blued/powder coated knowing me :icon_redface:) i will have a go at the airsporter when thats done, i am thinking of a skeleton stock type thing but dont want to stick my neck out too far (oo
  9. yep i am definately up for that ( say £20 for the blank, that way you can cover the cost of that and of the "star prize" ) now this is the way to wind up the "net social product of the country" and get the economy back on its feet :toast: great stuff, i have to go and find some better wood, i dont care if i win but i have to beat paul lmao!!!!!!!!! mike. waidmannsheil!!
  10. i " found" some at work last night which i think will be good, bone dry and heavy/hard as hell ( i might need a better file!!!!!) not sure what type of wood it is yet, slightly reddish and seems to have a nice grain so i will give it a go lol paul i am practising!!! feck me i cant afford to buy stuff i gave a dog away half price   fancy calling me tight, carefull is a better choice oh and @ sjt657 its paracord mate ( you get it on errrrrrrm paras?) just kidding i got them from matt with it on,i have tried doing the same with leather thonging but it doesn't lie as
  11. the first one sits in the hand really well tbf. the little damascus blade looks a bit awkward but it is perfect for the rabbit paunching i wanted it for ( and has also come up VERY sharp indeed!!!!). two knives i have had a bit of practice on and can be used in the field, and they came cheap as chips i have an old air rifle stock to fiddle with at the moment ( an old bsa lightening which broke at the pistol grip,i cant get another reasonably priced so i have pinned and glued it. it will be painted black and will do the job untill i can find a decent one). i will get some decent wood a
  12. just thought i would post a couple of pics of work in progress. ( these are my first attempts lol ) the first a blank i have laminated in leather and epoxied, still need to work on the finish of the handle but the blade is done and sharp as feck the second a little damascus blank ( stick tang) with a deer antler/tine and a copper stop . the third is a damascus/para cord knife which i have done nothing with yet. the last is a big old fella i will be putting a wooden handle on the last two i think. the last two sheathed.
  13. have a bump on me i have a knife very similar from alex here, well made and sits well in the hand. the chap is a pleasure to deal with waidmannsheil!!
