    nice looking bird bud, what weight is he flying at? i ask as he looks quite small compared to the weasel? ( it may just be the photo?). i have a mhh here that was flying at just over 1lb.

    i wrk nights so i can fly the birds/run the dogs in daylight.( a concious decision!) we have just started flying a mates fhh on the lamp and she is doing doing really well tbf. no replacement for daytime flights but at least the bird is catching and getting out.

    does anyoe have a roe antler knocking about? i need one for a knife handle,i dont mindgiving a couple of quid for it ( and paying postage of course). it would need to be at least 4 inches and of a reasonable thickness. pm any pics or add on this thread. cheers, mike. waidmannsheil!!

    she is very steady to be fair, only 11 months old. they are both very eager to please and bidabble. i will be getting onto the pointing steadyness with her starting this week, she has a good nose to be sure!!

    here a couple of photo's from today bud, slovakian rough haired pointer ( mo') and the gwp dog i mentioned called derby ( was called woody before i got him a few weeks ago).

    its a bit late to be starting off or is this a "late training problem/late starter"? its all a big game to the dog, if the best game is "chase" then he will try to get you to chase him. if the best game is "pull of war" then he will bring the dummy to your hand ( do this with a dummy/ rope toy not game!!!) the release command ( dead) should be firmly in place ( at which point the dummy is thrown again/game put in the bag and the dog praised to death!!!). i would rather do this than the "forced retrieve" on a table, the dog brings because it wants to........................... waidman

    the knives arrived this morning! i am very pleased with them mate( thanks for throwing in a sheath for the bigger one,i was not expecting that at all). would reccomend this chap to anyone wanting a decent blade with no messing about. i'm off to chop summat up! waidmannsheil!!
