Im with South Wales and i thought it was a joke it took just over 3 months to grant my FAC & SGC, 1 of my mates and i sent are application on the same day he had his from the day he sent off to his door was 1 week and 5 days. Then 2 of my mates sent there forms off whilst my applications were being granted and they both recieved them in 3 weeks before i recieved mine and when i recieved mine another 2 of my mates recieved them the same week and the one was 5 days from the day he sent it to the day he recieved, and the other i think was about 1 and a half months or 2 months and he had the s -
The way i see it shooting foxes with a .22rf is like shooting rabbits with a 12ft/lb air rifle there up to the job but shot placement has to be spot on, so does that mean air rifles should not be used for shooting rabbits because a .22rf is much suited for shooting them. Well i think the .22rf is ok for shooting foxes but i would use a centrefire if i was going out targeting a fox. The .22 has got enought power to stop a fox and the fox i shot the other week at 75yards thinks so aswell. My thoughts on this is that if im out with the .22 and a fox trots iwithin 80yards of me he is going

well as people keep saying in this thread that that deer was doing no damage so why was it shot and if it needed shooting then shoot it next year, but when you go to shoot it the year later it has already done damage so taking it out now has stopped the damage it was going to cause i see no problem in doing so.

17 was my first shotgun and im still 17 so i havnt had it long.( also first .22 rimfire and .223 centrefire)

Problems getting Eley subsonics
3jackwhite3 replied to fitcher's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
i went to litts last month and asked for winchester or eley to try and they didnt have any as they said there wont be any more until september time so i left with some rws dynamite nobel and they seem to be grouping good in my rifle so they will do for now. -
i use 28gram 7 1/2 for everything i have tried 32 gram 6's and i get a headache after about 30 shots with my sxs and i have had no problems with them.
-
im using rws as that is all i can get hold of at the minute and at 50yrds i can get five shots in a penny sized target. so i rate them quite high

i know its not airguns but me and my mate got pulled about 2 weeks ago by an officer when we had are shotguns, we were going to shoot behind the tractor as he cut his fields, any way the officer started telling us that we were not aloud "air weapons" in a public place and when we told him they wernt airguns he had a shock. Lets say he wanted are guns as we didnt have proof of where we were going but just as we were telling him we were doing nothing wrong the farmer came around the corner in his tractor and he told the officer he knew us and we were going shooting with him, he still didnt belie

i would of shot the dog if it killed my stock chickens or not it will do it again if it had the chance, i think the owner of stock has the right to protect them and if it was a fox that had killed the chickens then i think everybody would say take the fox out so whats the difference. this is just my view on things.

well i went to the range today and i started low and worked up to 25.gr without any pressure signs and i had good groups with them at 100yds yet to try them at 200yds im expecting to get at least 3100fps

hughesey1552 the rats and rabbits eyes reflect just like they do in a lamp and that is what you see first when scanning around and human eyes even reflect when you look through night vision.

well i rate the add ons highly for rat shooting it is probably the best shooting there is but i tried it for rabbit shooting on the rimfire but it is hard to tell the distance and resulted in a lot of missed shots but dont forget if you buy an add on you will need a scope that has px adjustment otherwise you will not be able to focus the scope. the add on i use is the yukon nvmt4 and dont forget buy the best laser or led ir you can afford.

hi could anybody help me out im using a 223 and my load is a 55grain v-max OAL 2.243 H335 powder remington 7 1/2 small rifle primer rifle is a tikka t3 with a 19" barrel (factory barrel) i would like to know the fps for both 23.8grains + 24.8 grains if anyone would be so kind many thanks nathan
-
im pretty sure bisley magnums are 21gr which means it doing 1150+fps still that will knock them over. the only thing is that anything over 1050 or 1080 is supersonic and you are better off with a rimfire with subs.

3jackwhite3 replied to whippeter69's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
1.yes 2.yes 3.not sure on this one but you can walk to the land you shoot on unsupervised at the age of 15. 4.yes without written permission aswell. -
well it was your choice mate i would have killed it but they do make great pets if you decided o take it home. Here is a pic of my pet squirrel and he is tame as they come and i think he likes shooting but before anyone says why have you got it as a pet and why dont you just kill it, it is doing no harm to the environmet and he will not be let go back into the wild

struggling to get a job, dont know what you want to do?
3jackwhite3 replied to JPTfellterrier's topic in Young Hunters Talk
JPTfellterrier after reading alot of your post your life is almost identical to mine being in a non hunting family and all that and am planning on dropping out of college as countryside management is not what it seams so thanks for the advise. -
well it started for me at my 13 birthday i wanted a decent BB gun not a crappy £5 thing but just as i was going to buy one a kid moved in not to far from me n he had an air arms s400 so i had to get myself an airgun instead of a BB gun because it can kill things. I knew my gramp had one so i asked if i could have it and he said yes as he had it given to him and he didnt like hunting at all, so i used to shoot targets in my garden n i told my mum it was a BB gun as she hated guns n so did my dad and after a while i went out with a different kid ferreting and i was hooked then so i got ferrets

3jackwhite3 replied to Effortless's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
on my license it says the .22lr and .223/5.56 and moderators shall be used for VERMIN or something like that so i think my police force count fox as vermin. -
well i was looking at the merlin cobra add on and it was a little to much at the time so i bought the yukon nvmt4 add on with adapter and 100mw led torch for just over £200 and it is the best thing i have ever bought for my air rifle but the only disadvantage is that you need a scope with PX adjustment to put it into focus when you shoot at different ranges. I find it the best peice of kit for shooting rats as the rats me and mates were shooting got lamp shy the first time we visited a farm so for every 1 my mates shoot with the lamp i have about 7 as i just sit waiting for them to come

we got two lads like that down by me who think they are terrier men and every earth there dogs go down they start to dig and they are much worse than the first picture i will post them up, me and mates have filled in a few that have been left by them as every earth we come to has nothing at home or is wrecked and the thing is when we asked them to fill in the earths they said there is no point because the earth wont be used again and what ever is in it the earth belongs to that animal and nothing else?!?!?!?! and the last thing is they have been going out for about three years and have only ha
