Ok, brace yourselves, another one of my ludicrous conspiracy theories........ The powers that be don’t want anyone to be self sufficient.......that want you on the wheel of mortgage, paying the utility company, paying the credit card that you use to buy government food at Tesco...... I am only connected to electric and phone and obviously mains water everything else is mine and I can provide for myself. So, I can do without phone, water is not a problem to harvest as it falls out the sky by the f***ing tanker load !! If I had the money to invest in a decent solar or wind system for electric then I would pretty much be totally off grid. I own 2 peat bogs and a forest so fuel is no problem and I do that for myself now. I am just about to sit down and eat my own pork and I also have my own veal and lamb in the freezer now. Very valid point my friend, when I moved I went out of the way to apply MY thinking to people living in England to myself living in another mans country. My boy learns Gealic and rightly so, it’s in the carriculum and all the other kids have to do it and it’s the native language so it’s only right he learns it......some othe English incomers kick up a right fuss about it which is totally wrong imho. The culture is also very different, you have to fit in and behave appropriately. If you behaved here like they do in England, no.1 they would think you were mentally ill and no.2 you

To reply to the title, no, I think the true cruelty of cancer is the fact that it seems to be so random. I think some people don’t mean to be unkind, they just don’t know what to say.........dealing with death is VERY unfamiliar territory for most people. Personally, I think all you can be is normal and honest with people.......just don’t be f***ing weird about it. Socks, great post mate.

I used to swear by the lightforce 170, as did a few of my pals. Recently I have started to get into these hand held things. I bought a head torch made by Cheata, it’s f***ing amazing !!.......rechargeable and the beam is brilliant, long range, bright and tight. It just fits in your pocket, I also have a cheap wildhunter job with a red filter, again rechargeable. For the money, id just buy a couple more Cheatas or one of those PR500 things and throw the whole lot in my pockets. Should give you about 8/9 hours between them......and don’t weigh anything.

I saw a Wolfhound and a Great Dane get rinsed by a german/Dutch Doberman many years ago, killed the pair of them stone dead in about 5 minutes flat. Dint know how good anything like that would be against teeth.

When I was about 18 I used to go out with a bird who lived with her divorced Mum, I used to knock both of them......her Mum was about 17 stone so I sort of figured it was a public service as she was a bit lonely the woman......it went a bit downhill when I took a pal round as well to give me a hand with the Mum but in my defence she was a lot of woman to deal with.
