Quiet a good result for my little hammers tonight, only 2 goal loss. Apparently we were as shite as I expected.

United were the biggest club in the world, so of course they had more financial clout and I actually think Solskear is setting them up for the future pretty well. But to say Manchester Utd did it through development is absolute nonsense.....they had a crop of player, 3 or 4......everything else they bought just like all these big clubs have done the last 30 odd years.

So, If I read that right they are second only to city in the last ten years and city were non existent as a force in Utd’s glory years really. Its only relatively recently that city re-wrote the price lists in England

That’s a fair post that mate, can’t argue with much of it. I can honestly say I have never had any bother with them but I’m always upfront about how we are all going to treat each other from the off. The only time it got tested once was when I walked into a permanent site to see if they wanted to sell it and one of them was going mental, I just offered to go at it there and then with him so we could get on with talking business and the chief boy told him to f**k off......all OK after that. But, I take your point and sadly your story is all too familiar to people

That’s true mate, that’s the mindset for many people. Not a bit of me I’m afraid unless it was for my kids or I was going to move away.

You see all these programmes on the telly mate and everyone is ticking along, up to their elbows building things out of rock with their bare hands etc etc.......my experience has not been like that I can tell you now ! Lol ? I have just messed along making loads of f**k ups, trying this, trying that and my only goal was that we could feed ourselves with our own meat and we have....so that’s good. I also wanted to have a place where my kids could build a home mortgage free and they can do that too if they want because there is enough space for them to have a couple of acres each, so

Most I have had to do is the TB test and the vet don’t charge full wack to do a couple of little un’s like that.....maybe €40

I rear on a couple of bull calf’s from the milking lads now and again, €50 buys them, bit of feed then out on grass upto 10 months then kill for veal Butcher charges me €200 to kill and joint, make sausages, burgers, mince etc so €300 fills my freezer with totally organic veal for over a year.....that’s cheap eating that is.

I always find it strange that most lads here keep cattle and yet they have never eaten their own beef ......they shop at Supervalue instead which I just think is mental.

They turned out exactly how I wanted actually so I kept back a brother & sister and I will breed them together and see how they turn out.

I reared a couple of wild boar crosses, they were fine and they tasted amazing

Illegal to feed swill here mate, I feed cow crunch and rolled oats and they graze free range.

It’s lovely mate, I always have a good bit of fat on my pork because the fats the flavour. Meat is slightly darker than factory pork. They have a good coat too because they live out most of the year.

I like the Boer goats, but like sheep, I don’t like the fact you are meant to medicate them so much. I lost a load of sheep to Fluke the other year, we suffer bad with fluke here in the west of Ireland it seems. I try and keep creatures that don’t require loads of medication because ultimately, I have to eat it.
