I think you have to take another factor into account and that is sport is a way into college for most black people in the USA.....it’s what they can do and indeed they do it very well. They have remained closer to chimps physically than Europeans or Asians, they are genetically predisposed to be stronger etc seeing as they are on the cusp of being classed as full human beings. Couple that with 5 years of the best sporting facilities and athletic programmes money can buy and you will see results. In actual fact, I’d say Christiano Ronaldo would be more prized as an older player by clubs than Messi. At this stage of CR career it wouldn’t even be about what he did on the pitch, he is worth a hundred grand a week just to show young players how to live, eat, train and mindset.......Paulo DiCanio did exactly that for young Frank, Joe and Rio when he came to our little club. Frank won’t want Messi, he is building something and I can see his idea. He wants players at the start of their career, not the end. Messi has PSG written all over him, they are the European equivalent of LA Galaxy. Step inside the PSG shop on the Champs Elise and that tells you exactly what that club is all about......and at this stage of his career Messi fits that model perfectly imho

Again, amazing but I don’t think you can compare. Pele was the best in the world but again, he was playing against players who’s warm up was Sausage, Egg, Chips and a pint of Guinness before training or a game. Obviously for me Bobby Moore is special but I’m under no illusions he would have been good enough to play in the French World Cup winning side of 98.....they had everything, what they were eating, training, physical robustness, talent, ability and aggression. Exactly mate, that’s what I’m talking about......there have been such fundamental changes to football and what referees will stand in Messi’s era that you can’t measure him against other players. The rule changes were a double edged sword in my opinion because they were designed with more of a pure technical style of play in mind which is good but they took a lot of the blood and guts out of the game......when you can be as good as Henry or Ronaldo and make you brain and feet work whilst at the same time trying to avoid getting smashed with a 90mph tackle by Jaap Stam then you really are

What everyone has to remember is that C Ronaldo and Messi have been allowed to play under a different system of rules specifically introduced to encourage just that. THE Ronaldo did more and he did it having absolute chunks taken out of him week in, week out as did every player of his generation. Subjective is right mate. I think Lionel Messi is the greatest player of his generation in that position, absolutely 100% .......but the greatest ever ?
