  1. Again its regardless weather or not the flo has any experience of field sports as you have to go through them. And he will take in many things in making up his mind public footpaths access etc, backstops, and many other things. By putting up high seats may help you'r case.
  2. The 6.5x55 is my choice should have had 1, 20 years ago. I've had 243, 2506,308, and have a 7mm rem mag. But the swede shoots flat hits hard and has little recoil. If you hand load its better still as you can squeeze alot from the case and seat the bullets well out. A great calibre as are the others but the swede does it all without the recoil.
  3. The only person who can tell you mate is your flo.
  4. Yes mate no shortage. But the upload quality of the vids are disapointing my master copy is much clearer.
  5. Out this morning with a regular client, on a patch of ground with plenty of roe does on it, but it's been a trying time catching up with the deer. They are bunched up in groups out in the middle of large fields and are very aware of whats happening around them. This along with snow fog and no wind has made it a real struggle. So we set out not to early as the deer have to be seen in good time to try and plan the stalk which maybe 1/2 mile or more. So as the light came good we spotted 4 out on a hill top a good 1/4 mile away. We planned an approach and began to walk in. Whilst closing the

  7. Always nice to have that kind of a brace. well done.
  8. Well done you both, 1 of the loves I have for my job is sharing this feeling on a daily basis with old and new stalkers the feeling never goes.
  9. Hi there I have used all calibres on deer mainly Roe and foxes. And would say that the 6.5 is the best choice. I handload for mine and if you get into foxing I'm sure you will. My 125g nosler partition load sends this pill out @ 2,870fps. a 20" finnlite barrel A good fox round is the 95g VMax going 3100fps. Sierra do an 85g HP bullet and this would be an awesum fox round. As an all round factory choice you could do worsse then 127g cone point. For red stags you can always go 140g, and my favorite woodland head is the 156g this is not easily deflected and gets through bracken and twigs t
  10. Wish they were mate they are spares
  11. Well I have a pair of insulated goretex gloves I can not lay my hands on.(literally) So racking my brains I think the last time I had them may have been a few weeks ago when I shot the 3 does. This is the first evening I've not been tied up with deer or pheasants so it was off to look for the gloves I would go to where I gralloched them and see if they were on the wood floor. And I would take out Brandon, Breezes Nephew.(Hes had a couple of days beating but never an outing with the rifle. I reached for the 6.5 and checked topped up the clip with some more 156gr s/p's I really like these
  12. I have shot 100's and still like to feel the rush after the shot was taken especially if after a good stalk, it can be just as common with does. The funny thing is most missed shots I encounter tend to be with bucks and the bigger the buck the more chance of a miss. I often film the action and even with no gun feel the tremble its what stalking is all about.

  18. Its stood on patio flags. nice idea for the mice but would encourage rats which will chew the timber. It looks out into a field between 2 woods and a quarry so the foxes trot past often anyway.
