  1. i got the bullet from the fallow and it was perfectly mushroomed, very happy with both rounds used.... you have'nt got a photo of the bullet have you.??? regards john
  2. As I have said W.V. my A.W.status has nothing to do with what I do. It means I witness stalks and don'nt interfere with candidates desicions good practice or otherwise I simply record the evidence gathered in the process of a stalk. I am not going to be drawn in to one of your slagging matches. Alot of my ground is large fields with "field roe" Killing mum first in these circumstances ensures all 3 are shot as there's no where to run!!. I don'nt do it all the time at all of the places I evaluate every situation and all the possibilities and make a decision based on facts not general guide
  3. As we have said it is a guide, and a guide only. it can not be a hard and fast rule on every bodies ground or cicumstances. The rule any body ought to follow,, is do as your guide tells you in what ever order he says. his experience on that ground is what you pay for!! period. the fields and woods are the best class room. Another point is as an A.W. I can only witness stalks not interfere or influence what a stalker dose for right or wrong. JUST witness and do the paperwork and ask the questions its not up to me to say if they do it to a code only to provide the evidence for the as
  4. If I have a client out they will usually shoot yearlings first if on my own and culling numbers will shoot the old girl first then the kids more often then not will shoot all this way...Sometimes it becomes a numbers game but not with clients.. If numbers are ok will take just a doe kid they ARE good eating. Anyway W.V. my clients only shoot what I tell them weather or not they've been with you or anybody as if I were with you I would shoot whatever YOU told me to In whatever order YOU wanted guidelines or not thats the way it should be.
  5. That is all it is a guide not a rule!!!?? What i said is i agree with the statement, maybe i dont follow it??
  6. never mind opening up the hill to all or releasing lynx or wolves.
  7. lets get off to a better start this time??
  8. Would they be hazel sticks home made. (VIMto)
  9. I take out dozens of clients a year and all tooled up with differing bins some good some bad. Nothing in it for me zeiss, leica, swaros, kahles all same follewed by docter then onto the mid priced models.(Have a mate with the new stieners and they are very good). Think if I had to put my money on one it would be ziess nite owls.
  10. Back tonignt to wait for the foxes I will park furter up the field. Rained off.
  11. Left the house yesterday evening at 5.45 to go sit with the rifle to wait for foxes. Getting there at 6.10 the sun was already on the horizon "crickey I thought I,ve mis-judged this. The gates were locked and as I was in my van I had no key, so a call to the keeper and I was on my way up the track. Driving through the shelter belt I was immediatley greeted by a doe. Letting her merge back into the forestry I carried on into the 60 acre stubble. Driving in about a third of the way I parked up to set the ambush. There was another 6 roe out grazing does and followers.MMM thats 7 now. Anyways t
  12. Well done you'll be hooked for good now mate.
  13. for long range death .22250 but only good for rabbit stew.
  14. If you are close enough what about a shotgun with 50 odd grams of BB,s just a thought Both rimfires are not fox tools in reality just beacause people use them including me there are better choices .22WMR is one rimfire better suited to foxes and the Hornet is an entry level C/f.
  15. I to decker thought it was a piss take. Its not, The gun is very barrel heavy and I did manage to hit a pigeon. It is ported for the full legnth and is virtually recoil free. It patterns tight but it has a super turkey full in anyway. £200 is the cost from midway, why anyone would want one ?????? having to much money probabley as I said I was just modelling it
  16. not my gun or combo just modelling it apperantly its great for blowing out squirrel dreys crows nests
  17. Found this round the back its a piece of plate steel 8mm thick. It was shot at at 100m with my 6.5*55 with lowish powered privvi 139g factory soft points. It was used for a talk I was to give which never came off. This is a good reason for making sure you have a backstop and why landowners do'nt just want anybody on there land with a centre fire rifle even the 22,250 will penetrate right through with VMax *aaaa* you can see it has bent the plate on the cross section photos. *aaaa*
  18. Both times of day are good i like morning best less dog walkers and if anything gose wrong theres time to sort it.
  19. Good luck you'll enjoy yourself for sure. But you maybe wo'nt shoot a thing keepers are busy now and simply may not have time to walk about with a gun. I to at 17 got an assistant keepers job to get a shock that we do'nt carry a gun ALL the time and shoot all day. You'll enjoy it non the less.
