  3. Someone explain this to me please guys ? I read a while ago, that a mum took a photo of her young children 2 of them had red eye on the piccy, the other one had nothing so she took the child to the Dr's and as it transpired this child had a serious illness, being honest about this.........
  4. Pictures would help fella.......
  5. This is a great thread, something Ive been wanting to know for a while, and never got round to asking, I'd love Lexy to take the odd duck / pheasant etc, Ive introduced her to swimming and she's now retrieving to hand, she swam after her dumbell for the first time this morning after many hours of letting her paddle, so what do you suggest, is there anyone kind enough to send me some duck / pheasant wings ? I'll course pay the postage
  6. Thinking of you mate.....good luck !
  7. Ive given her some time and preparing for how im gonna progress with her, took her for a walk tonight and done nothing just let her sniff, run and act...well like a puppy, it's great to know that you folk think were on track, will keep you upto date with her...if you want speak soon Craig and Lexy
  8. Hi Guys, well as per usual you ve come up trumps for me.....erm right, I'll try and answer as many as I remember.... yes she's beardie collie, I take a bag with a rabbit skin dummy, tennis ball and a bright pink dumbell, I generally just mooch with her and she loves it, then every now and again (maybe 3 times on a 30 min walk) one of the toys will come out, I play running games with her and am always telling her how good she is, when of course she's been good, like I said, she is unbelieveable for a young dog, she gladly retrieves beautifully on our back garden, inc over small obstacles, when
  9. Great shot...but send the rabbit to me, Im despoarate for rabbit for my 16 Wk old pup lol
  10. LUCKY FELLA, HAVING SOMEONE TO HELP AND SHOW HIM THE ROPES, WELL DONE MATEY
  11. Lexy's arnt infected at all, sorry I didnt realise, erm, perhaps get the vet to check em out whilst he has a look at the lump
  12. Hi, the lil marks I dont think are anything to be concerned about...well if they are I'll be concerned as my 16 Wk old pup has them, the lump looks like a hernia to me..........I know what alot of folk on here will say.....VETS ! good luck with it, let us know what the problem is ATB, Craig
  13. Hi Joe, yes I understand, Lexys the same around dogs, oh she loves them, usually wets herself with excitment lol, I'll try that with the extra long lead can you buy them or du simply use a length of string tied to the collar ? I use "Lexy come" Im sure that she knows what she should be doing when I say it as im sure she grins at me as she's sticking the fingers up at me....lol spose it should be her toes up at me, im 100% comitted to sort this ! it's when she gets a whiff, ive tried training her in different environments, the park, a nature trail, as I thought she's perhaps catching a whiff of
  14. Hi mate, that s all I need someone with experience to tell me, Im perfectly happy, I love her, it's I just want to be on top of things, nice and early, dont get me wrong im not pushing her, but if you watch Purdys progress, im sure Mr Sleight has Purdy re-calling at Lexys age ? this has made me feel better cos like I said if it's normal, im happy ! so I guess I should keep doing what Im doing ?
  15. Hello, Ive jus done this for my pup, tack to board, I use drawing pins, rub salt in, then next day rub vascoline (exscuse spelling) in the next day and keep in a cool dry place, I topp it up every few days, by re salting and vasso. let us know how you get on atb Craig
  16. Hi hunting buddies, I know that there are threads covering similar problems, but I dont want to hijack someones thread, lil bit of history, I have a 16 Wk Hancock bred 3/4 GH x 1/4 BC she's been progressing really well, very clever and picks things up really well !, she's house trained, retrieving, and over small obstacles, lead works coming on just fine, So whats the problem...... Im wanting a bit of re -assurance really, the problem is with her re-call from the moment I got her, Ive been calling her "Lexy come" when she comes to me, I get her to sit and give her a treat, I was recommended
  17. Well I know for me, it was simple, Im glad that I didnt scruff my dog, for me, note FOR ME, it wasnt needed, more than one way to skin a cat ! still splitting my girls food, and adding to what she already has...in her mind when we approach he it's not a negative ie to take food away, she now see's it as yum my pals are bringing me more food, I dont want to be able to take the food out a my dogs mouth, but I dont ever want to see aggression from her where me my wife or children are concerned, stick with the none violent route, it'll work, it has for us !
  18. Hello, in a word no.....this dog cost him nie on a grand, beautiful big strong dog, just got me thinking what the pup's ad be like ??? irish terrier x 3/4 gh x 1/4 beardie collie
  19. Great call that, I personally dont think it matters a jot, isnt it inherant in the makeup of the breed....collies, spaniels, labs, GSD's all have there own traits, so whats the difference with seight hounds ? I know this a dog I had, I know for sure that the dogs sire and dam deffo didnt work, and yet the bitch in question would run through walls to get to what it was chasing, Im really looking forward to seeing how Lexy works out, I cant fault her so far, very quick to learn, course I still pull my hair out at times, but remain calm and she gets it right in the end, I know if she's up for it
  20. Well, I went out purposely to get myself a Hancock bred dog, mine is from John Dog (Beardie Collie x GH) x Flicker (GH), she's as bright as a button, learns very quick, getting her to a standard then having another, maybe go for a similar cross but from working stock, then I'll be able ta tell you all if it really does matter !!!
  21. Hi Boyo, I'll ask him for a piccy, deffo not seen any work...I doubt if theres been any worlkers for Yrs in his ancensestry, I know that we've been over and over this before but is it 100% essential for parents to be from working stock ?
  22. Hi all, a good friend of mine has a Irish terrier it got me wondering how do you think the pups out of this lets say 1st cross with a GH would be ? are they simiar to a wheaton terrier ? this dog is a stunner, only very young but won best in show already, mind you he paid a fortune for it, jus for those who like to pick a fight, im not looking at breeding it with anything....jus wondered. Craig
  23. Oh god, really sorry to here that pal, awful for all concerned, thinking of you and kids mate as we went through it not long ago, know it's tough but only way we could move on was er well...getting a pup, take care Pal Craig
