  1. Hi Hannah and Neil, thanks for your advice.......OMG.......now I am worried, I had a look yesterday at your threads and I thought I'd introduce her to a rabbit for the first time, here's the worrying part.......she ran and hid, wouldnt have anything todo with it at all, the look of terror in her eyes, I dont know if she thought i'd just killed her sisiter or something, but really concerned me...is this what the anti Hancocks are talking about with his dogs ? I expected her to be desparate to get hold of it, like Lora was, please give me your advice, a very concerned Craig
  2. Hey up fella's right it's me again, if I feed her rabbit am I better off giving her 1/3rd of a rabbit.....ye know with fur on and left whole but cut into 3 pieces, head / shoulders, mid section and back end ? Im just not sure on the fur, if were going back to what her ancestors did in the wild then surely I'd be better off leaving it on ? what about the gutsm anal tract with all the yet to be deposited todds ? sorry but I honestly dont know what todo your advice as usual is greatly appreciated Craig.

  4. Hi Jamie, thanks for your comments mate, she's very loved,in this piccy, we'd not had her long so I put some cuddly teddies in with her, calmed her down almost straight away, she obviously didnt like the feling of being alone in her bed, having been with the other whelps for 8 Wks. Ive gone on record on this site, asking if a dog can be firstly a loved pet and secondly a working dog, doing what she loves doing, this however has it's implications I know for sure that I become way way to attached to my dogs (it took me Weeks to get over Lora having to be put down, and still kicks the air outa m
  5. Hi SPH, just read my post and your right she's not a Merle, I was trying to state that Merles have some historical eyeseight problems, she's a Hancock bred dog, whats your thoughts ? THIS IS NOT A HANCOCK FOR OR AGAINST DEBATE ! all lurchers eyes are tuned to movement, have seen my dogs looking round a field with rabbits sitting still with no reaction but if one moves there off, could just be that. or to test eyes cover one with one hand and move your hand towards uncovered eye as if your going to hit it, it should react blink etc. then same for other eye. hope this helps fella ATB
  6. Mate, I never said I was going to do it, for heavens sake Ive not even got 1 (singular) snare, I was walking passed the area which is like I said common land with no homes within a several miles, it's not a farm, or estate, so no game keeper, rangers etc, I was just frustrated at the damage the bunnys are doing to the said shrubery and saplings etc, so I thought what about if I just set a few snares to A keep the numbers down and B put a few in my pot, thats it, simple, but again were all going ott and falling out, chill out mate, im on your team Craig origional post "Hi, good threa

  9. Hi all, hope that yall well, took Lexy (12 Wks) out for her usual evening stroll, tend to go a lil bit longer than the suggested 20 mins, well Ive just started letting her have a bit of freedom, obviously keeping my eye on her, well it was strange as she got to the top of a slope, she was about 20 feet away to my right, well I could have swore that she couldnt see me, I looked at her and watched to see what her plan was, she then set off in totally the wrong direction (not panicked but looked like she would when she returns to me) Ive got her returning well to a dog whistle, so I gave it a blo

  11. Glass calm down it's a hyperthetical situation, as ive stated, I didnt want to upset anyone, Ive stated it's not an estate, with a land owner / game keeper etc it's a piece of common land, frustrates me what the lil toe rags are doing to the saplings, shrubs etc, it's a long way away from any homes etc, Id just like to say silly remarks like "I'd shoot you in the head" have no place on a forum like this, if you want to talk that way there are plenty of sites on the internet where Im sure you'll be able to find like minded people. ATB with your search Craig

  13. Hi, good thread this, I dont want to hijack it but can I ask advice, I have an old filled in canal at the back of my property, now used as a nature type trail, I often walk it with the pooch, well it has segregated areas for planting, shrubs, bush's etc, these are separated by chicken wire fences, well over time the rabbits have got in and are causing havoc in there, warrens everywhere, damage to the shrubs etc, well there runs are as clear as day, Ive never done snaring in my life, but would really like to pull some bunnies for the pot and the pooch's barf diet, so, lets say if someone not me
