  6. Ive tracked and caught one or two mink in my time king. Now if you want to come down and show me how to go on your more than welcome :yes:Thers one or two things that helps identify mink tracks. First it s the area i found them Second, they come out of and went into the water Thirdly, they look exactly the same tracks as the mink ive caught over the past 20 years Thems big dog Mink tracks mate, you can bet your goolies on it Infact ill catch the f****r and prove it
  7. While i was round my Fox wires today i looked for mink signs after the the recent floods :good:A big dog mink had been through in the last 24 hours If you look carefully in the second picture you can see where the foxes have taken the bark off the thorns.thats the second fox off that run this season
  8. f**k the ferrets, get some snares What do reckon Chalkwarren
  9. Shotgun shooting and snaring where the main ways to take fox.People cage trapped a few and shot them with .22 rimfires.Back then there wasnt really as many mink as today but to take mink it was fenn mk6s and snaring I used to take all my corvid wings, starling capes and variousa other catch related stuff to the game dealers, but thats stopped now
  10. I dont agree there Stevo. Most of our British pelts would be exported to Russia, china and other countrys around the world and they will pay top dollar for well primmed pelts. There no Fake fur ever made that will keep the cold out like real fur. People forget that furs arent just used for fashion, they are also used for practical purposes all over the world and as ive said before, our pelts are just waisted because we aint allowed to trade Furs anymore
  11. I think bringing back the Fur trade would be a very good thing as long as,there was a close season for target species (any bad problems out of season should be sorted by a government trapper). All snares and traps should be "name tagged" so dodgey and dangerous trappers could be fined.I dont think many people would get on the band waggon because its not quite as easy to get good kill ratios as people would have you think and once people had to start skinning, scraping, stretching and drying skinns people would soon realize that its not the romantic lifestyle that they`ve read in books I dont h
  12. I think that you can only use terriers to ground on foxes if they are taking Game, but if they are taking lambs etc your hands are tied Ime not certain about this,PETERTHEBEATER is the man to ask about this
  13. Mmmmm, real interesting coote.... I would be using a quad looking at that link Folding cages would be ok but if your travelling large distances i thing the snare and gun is the way to kill large numbers.A .410 would be shit hot for those possums i think.Stand back fifteen yards with 21/2" cartridges and you would have no pelt damage to speak of You could cary a hell of alot of footholds on a quad,100s infact so basicaly you need a quad
  14. I'm currently buying swivels like yours for 47 pence each seems like a lot of money for a bit of twisted fence wire, but I can't find a tidy way of making my own. Q Acquire some fence wire, make your own. even if they dont look tidy.... the fox ain't gonna give a shit is he????? Also P&G, how much your fox wires selling for? PM me for prices Rabbithunter Ill sell you fox swivels for £0.30p each Quercur.A minimum order of 50 though (rabbithunter, shut up unless you know what your talking about )
  15. Buy private and save yourself about £1000
  16. I am amazed at how un-professional some people are at what ever they do.Whats all this shite about digging around there burrows, what the f**k do you think rabbits do every day :blink:Digging makes no odds as long as you back fill. As far as shouting/rattling keys to call ferrets out etc,ive never heard out like it
  17. Were did you say you were working again
  18. Frogman4,thats only half of that shed ,you want to see the other sheds Woodga, those sheds are out of bounds when you,Moley and that W.rich are about
  19. Hears a close up of my fox wires. All hand made Note, all snares have plastic setting sleeves, hand made swivels and deer stops.....
  20. Our foxes are starting to moult now Coote, which makes the pelts useless. Our fur trade is well and truly a thing of the past.I will skin a few well primmed Foxes/mink for orders now but the rest go "over the hedge".Its a f*****g discrace that we should be MADE to waist a valuable resource like our winter pelts just because a minorrity think its cruel. The foxes, mink and other animals are still being killed and simply dumped so using there pelts should be the obvious thing to do . Now our government has banned fox hunting and are intent on banning snaring and anything else to do with our countr
  21. Coote,it sounds like Possems would be the ideal candadate for a cage trap
