All i use is shavings. This dries the dogs and they actually smell quite nice.I change the shavings twice a week in the winter, ounce a week in the summer .Doesnt cost out iether Like most of you lads ive tried everything and shavings come out on top
  5. I actually load all my fox wires. To do this i rub the inside of the snare (close to the eye) on a six inch nail which is fastened in my vice . When they are loaded the fox snare actually fires onto the foxes neck the second the fox touches the snare All these tips and techniques will be shown in my video(when a certain person on this forum gets round to doing it :realmad: )

  7. Try a mixture of carrot and apples then, cut the slices waffer thin on the outside of the trap(thicker on the inside) so theres not enough to pick up and cary away..Set the cage on a rabbit run and if you can, piss a dead rabbit onto the inside of the trap. If that doesnt work buy some wires of Woodga....
  8. Hey sniper,we have all made little boo boos.I post on hear to try and help the lads gain abit of free knowledge on snaring and trapping . Theres that much total rubbish written on this subject in trapping books which is why i try and put people on the right road to successfull snaring/trapping I was helped on the art of snaring/trapper by a master snarer/trapper (Glenn Waters).I travelled the 175 miles nearly every other week for years to gain the knowledge that put me on the road to being a top class snarer/trapper . Nothing can beat learning off a master and i was very lucky to have

  10. For a total biginner i think 30" barrels are over the top and only make hitting your target more difficult(take IanB for example, cant hit a chicken in the fridge ).Stick to 28" barrels and dont get sucked into these 31/2" magnum crap.......

  12. Listen Sniper, learn the law before you come on hear trying to be the clever dick And please tell me what use a stop is on a fence where a fox is going to tangle itself to f**k 90% of the time. They where called a deer stop because deer got there feet caught in the snare, clever shits like you twist the law and the reason the stops are there to suit yourself. All a stop will do is pro-long its suffering. Anyway your only jealous
