Depend,s on the dog.A good lurcher man will know when the dog is ready.To soon can f--k up a year,s training and you end up with a yapper.Or a dog that is put off because it has been entered to soon.So to awnser your ? As some ones already said, if you want two dogs you might as well get one to complement the other,Spaniel xs take some beating when it comes to working cover,They put there head down and plough through it,The rabbits dont get time to think they just have to bolt, as for lurcher you can take your pick,but something very quick of the mark helps,when bushing.

My thought is.You can improve a dogs feet with road work,but you wont make bad feet,into good feet.Some bullxs have very bad feet.

A good bag means you've had a good day,although sometimes i can have had a lot of birds come in and just cant shoot straight if the pigeons aren't coming in,I would rather be doing something else. So yeah a good bag is important but it doesn't have to be 100, 20 nice birds will do.

no its not all about catching things your dog wont be able to handle ,it will be about testing you and your dogs for stamina, guts ,and the way they work the light ,they wont have a patch on my or my mates dog ,so hurry up down and then you will see .its a pity you was not here the night before last you would have seen a 11month old dog retreve a fully grown fox in the dark and jump a 5 bare gate with it in his mouth ,like i say whin these dogs are not your normal run of the mill .and i cant put on here what he stoped in its track just before single handed ,but because it was so big the pe

Thanks for looking at my profile,not much on it really talk is cheap and all that,No expert have lots of permission do a lot of hunting,worked with animals since leaving school.Ihave to work! My dogs not has good as yours obviously .would always give advice if i thought it might help, but there again wouldn't be scared to ask for it either,Think i read you would never need to because you know it all.

I made my mind up a long time ago.You seem to think your the only one on here with more than afew seasons experience, your not and i doubt any one with a bit of knowledge will change the way they do things because of your writings,but there are a lot of newcomers who will think its ok to take there 3 month old pups hunting,not that i care, but i hate to see young dogs ruined.As would any dogman or women.

if it was the dog im on about ,then yes 3 months old ,but it was not on hares ,just like most dogs that were and are owned by people who know how to get the best from a dog if its got it in it .. Lets say your 3 month old lurcher catches a dying mixie rabbit, how do you train it to defy its own strength pick up the rabbit and carry it back.Surely you either have to walk to get the rabbit or the pup comes to you without the rabbit. Sorry for being so stupid
